Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I have a small one that I can and usually do put up, but, with my current sciatica issue I cannot bring it in from the garage without a lot of effort and for what purpose... I would look at it a couple of times during the season and put it back in the box on the 1st of January. Not worth the effort.

I enjoy the retro look of tinsel. :)

However, over the past 15 years or so, I've been trying new ideas with my tree. Been getting into ribbons and bows the past few years. I'll see how it comes out this time--always a gamble to try something new! ;)

But I'm not nearly as bad as my eldest brother. He likes a very plain tree, and puts on a few lights only. My sister gave him a hard time one year about that, so (out of spite . . . :p) , he threw a sock against the tree and it stuck there on a branch. She freaked, but he would not let her touch it--it was his decorating STATEMENT. :hilarious:

Sorry to hear about your sciatica. I hope someone in your family sends you a little tabletop tree, so that you don't have to lift anything.

I think you should have a tree just for you. Why not? Why do you need company to have a tree in your house? I think if I was starving and destitute, and had no one in the world, I'd still find myself a little tree (even a Charlie Brown tree) and put something nice on it (or I'd make some sort of ornament from things I'd find, if I didn't have the money to buy some). Christmas can be one person, or a group of people. :inlove:
When hubs and I were first married, we had no money for a tree, and my mom was insisting we HAD to have a tree. So we went to the dollar store, bought a foot tall tree with fiber optic lights and a few packages of Christmas earrings to hang on it as ornaments. Mom was not amused. We loved our little tree.

It looks super cute and it at least lets you have SOME decoration in a small space and/or with no money. We thought it was a great idea. We weren't going to be doing Christmas with the whole family at our house anyway, so we didn't need to fit any presents under it. It just worked out all the way around.
