Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Mike scooted in to check in to our hotel room and grab room keys while I Googled somewhere to eat. Good old Jack Astor’s is just around the corner. (So is Denny’s, so legit a hard decision.)

I was determined not to eat Caesar salad because of having to be up close and personal with people all day tomorrow, and then I decided - to heck with it, that’s why God created Listerine breath strips. :hilarious:

ETA - Our mains. I don’t think I’ve ever come here and not ordered the Asiago crusted chicken with bow tie pasta. After my milkshake, I was pretty full, so I only had a few bites. It was good. It’s always good, but in Jen-World, milkshake > pasta.

Mike got a burger and fries.

I brought my “I slept at the Plaza” nightie. Turns out I was being unintentionally ironic.

What a dump. Our digs for the next two nights.

The bathroom has ensuite privileges, so that’s good.

And yay! there are two tv’s. Somehow you can guarantee that Mike will control both of them. :hilarious:

The parking lot is absolutely packed, whatever that tells you. :cautious:

I can remember as a kid that the American Legion would come around every November selling poppies for the 11th. No matter how poor we were, my parents always bought them. They looked like this and we'd wear them to watch the parade.

They still do that around here every year. They're $1.00 each.

I just got back to day. I am often asked the question... what does a retired person call a vacation. I'll let you all know... We call it 'Idol in a different location'. For those that didn't get to see what I was doing. Here is the only picture I took the whole time. It says it all. Myrtle Beach, BTW.

Welcome home. I enjoyed your pic.

It’s hovering just above freezing some nights now. No be like. It looks quite a bit warmer in Myrtle Beach.

That picture was taken about 7:30am. The temperature at that time was 67, but, it didn't get above the mid 70's all the time I was there and the nighttime temps were a tad on the chilly side.

Hotel Headache is the worst.

In our haste to get moving yesterday, I inadvertently neglected to leave a tip for Housekeeping. In return, Housekeeping inadvertently neglected to vacuum, empty the garbage or clean the bathroom. I’ll be sure to leave a double tip while checking out this morning.

Not.

Not.

There are some hotel guests who still leave a tip for their entire stay, on the last night of their visit. (Years ago, my parents used to do that--it would be the full amount for each night, but would leave the full amount upon departure.) I've always left a tip nightly, as I never know if it will be the same housekeeper for each day of my stay.

Hence, I'm wondering if the housekeeper was thinking you didn't leave a tip intentionally, or conversely, if he/she thought maybe you'd leave it all at once. If it was the latter, could it have just been an oversight that maybe your room missed getting cleaned one day? (Yes, it can happen. I worked in the hotel industry for 16 years, and on rare occasions, a room could be checked off as being done, when it was missed.) To be clear, I'm not aligning myself with either side here--I'm only wondering if the lack of cleaning, was just a mistake.

(Most likely, you're right though. For some odd reason, I sometimes ponder miscellaneous situations and try to dissect them from many angles. I must be bored. ;) )
