My mom and sister went back home today. They'll be back at the end of the month for my birthday. Last night we watched Hocus Pocus. It's a tradition that my mom and I watch it every year. I wouldn't be surprised if we watch it again when they come back. I'm sure I'll end up watching it multiple times between now and Halloween.

This is a 13 ft alligator, the alpha male of the swamp, known to slaughter and devour his own kind, take out large population numbers of wild boar & deer, outrun the speed of Olympic sprinters....yet has never posed any threat to humans (just keep a safe distance), the one & only "Crazy".

When I saw him last Monday, he was laying out resting in the sun near a gazebo & garden area. Crazy's father, Oscar, was also a legendary gator of this swamp, and you can see his skeleton & massive size in the gift shop area. Crazy is very unpredictable (hence the name), but has never gone out of his way to attack a person. A few times, there have been some close calls, as tourists have seen him laying out somewhere, thought he was a decoration or prop, started to approach to get a picture, and soon realized via a quick turn or deep hiss, that this is no theme park. But he usually just keeps to himself, and as long as you keep an open eye and watch where you are walking, there is little to no chance of negative incident with this giant.

He mostly snoozed while I was watching him, minus one short moment when he raised up his head & showed off his massive jaws.
View attachment 237200 Was that an aggressive roar, a bored yawn, a Tarzan yell? Nope. When gators do that, they are taking in air & regulating their body temperature during the hot part of the day. So while it may look intimidating to you or I, it is nothing more than us standing in the comfortable breeze sighing "Aaaah".

If ever you visit this swamp and want to see Crazy, ask any employee, and they will tell you what areas he has been seen in lately, and what times of day increase your chances of spotting him.

I gave you a like for the pictures and the background story. I was, however, scared for you for being so close to him!!! :eek: You have guts to get within 20 feet of that critter!!

Speaking of which, there is a store in our local mall that has a number of crystal sculptures. Many Disney characters. There is a set of Mickey and Minnie crystal sculptures that are about 3 inches high, very nice quality with colored glass for a mere $375.00 each.

For a moment I thought, I should buy those for Jennifer, but, just then I remembered I hadn't taken my meds yet, so I popped the pills and then the whole idea just sounded crazy. :cool:
