95 here right now, 89 at home.
Jealous. On both fronts.
I have resumed wearing fluffy slippers, and am again under my Disney blankie in front of a heater. Ugh!
Is Jeremy the next April?
We went back to Robinson Preserve this morning after dropping off my grand niece at preschool. We had done a short hike there the other day, and wanted to go back to do a longer one before we go home net week. In retrospect, it would have been smarter to wait for a cooler day, but we survived, barely.
Once again we saw several ospreys nesting...
We chose to do a trail that winds along the shore of Tampa Bay in places. There's some really cool bridges throughout the path...
(that's the tower we climbed the last time we were there)
The trail was pretty, but it got quite hot (and buggy) in places. The nice thing though was that there were often little oases to rest. This one was particularly welcome!
There were a lot of cool views of Tampa Bay from this trail - it was still pretty, even at low tide.
We didn't see a lot of wildlife, except for the ospreys and occasional egrets...
and some friendly kayakers...
But there were a few freaky things too...
a mob of fiddler crabs...
a little lizard who just stared at us as we walked by...
creepy little crabs tht climb trees...
and a strangler fig tree killing an adjacent palm...
It really is a neat place, and I'm sure we'll go back again next winter, but today was just too hot to enjoy it all.
Can't recall exactly which morning, but earlier this week, I took the bus over to Magic Kingdom. As the bus passed under the big MK archway (where the CMs are in the booths), I noticed a sign: Premium Parking is available today. $40.00. (I think the regular, general parking is $20.)
There was probably something about this in N&R at some point before, but actually seeing that sign out the bus window made my jaw drop.
I believe I commented on that in last year's live trip report.
Yeah. That has been around for a bit. I thought it would be gone by now due to lack of use. lol
Aha. It seems to have gone up in price. Must be very popular!
Ha! Now I remember your post about this. It's unreal that it's actually gone up even higher in price. Heck the cost of admission to the park is around $100 these days. Maybe they had to raise the (parking) premium price to make it appear to be more "premium" for special folks?
