Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Greetings and Happy Mother's Day this weekend. Been a very busy month for me and I had to alter my travel plans a few times, but I'll be down in WDW for just a couple of days--can't wait!

As usual, I don't have ADRs (I eat QS, or use the cafeteria or restaurants at the Swolfin), and no faspass either. I just like to roam around with absolutely no direction in life. :hilarious:

The only idea I'm toying with is doing a partial, old fudd itinerary -- Tomorrowland Speedway, Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Tiki Birds, Tom Sawyer's Island, COP, and in EPCOT, Ellen's Universe of Energy. Why not? I figure half of these attractions will eventually be gone.

Bye everyone! :)

I just watched a replay of the DisneyParksLIVE broadcast of last night's HEA premiere on YouTube.

There was a lot less "crowd chatter" and fewer iPhone screens in your face.

But for the fact that the evening parade frees up the rides for people like me, I would say "who needs MSEP or PtN?" (I'd gladly take Spectro back though.) Well done WDW, this is a grand slam homerun.

I did it - I watched the HEA video on the home page. One word - brilliant!

The first tear officially reached my chin at the 0:54 mark. I am such a girl. Mike is surely going to make fun of me on 9/6, 'cause you can guarantee I'm going to bawl!

I am so glad that we got to see Wishes one final time from the Poly Beach, but having seen just the video of HEA, I doubt I'm going to be pining away for Wishes.

I liked that a lot of my boys' childhood movies were included in the new show. Those are their memories; much like the classics belong to us.

The crowd's reaction to the finale nearly made my heart burst. Now to move our first night ADR a half hour earlier ... I want a good spot to see this show.

So hoping @Eric1955 is able to watch this live tonight.

I've decided not go tonight. We've been having scattered showers today and they're supposed to continue tonight.

Have fun! I have work most of this week but I'm hoping to be able to go to the parks on Monday.

OK, something weird just happened. I went to you tube and watched the HEA show and for the first time in my life I want to see a fireworks show. Not because of the fireworks, but, because fireworks are a part of the show and not the show. The posting that i saw was a way back from the castle so much of the detail was lost as far as characters, etc. were concerned, but, the combination, the bright colors, combined with the occasional spinning of the towers, fireworks and other effects sold me to the point that I really want to go see it personally.

I'm thinking I should maybe see a Doctor or something. Then to bring things back into perspective you mentioned "Spectro", something that I saw once or twice (not by choice), but, made every effort I could to make sure I never saw it again. Way to strange and spooky for my taste. So I guess I'm alright, just impressed with HEA, eh!

We had a day without kids today, so DH asked me if I wanted to go back to Marco Island. We've been there a few times and never get tired of it. It is home to a pair of eagles whose nest and its surrounding area has been made into a little park. The nest is quite close to the road - you can't miss it. So this is what we saw when we drove up...

Looking a little closer we could see 3 eaglets in the nest, rather than the usual 2. It's fairly rare that 3 hatchlings make it through to fledging - usually the other 2 will kill it, push it out of the nest, or let it starve, but these 3 all seemed pretty healthy.

I looked across the field and spotted a white speck in a nearby tree(look about halfway up the tree on the left)

Sure enough, one of the adults was keeping an eye on the nest from a distance.

As much as I love the eagles, our true favorites on the island are the burrowing owls. There are over 100 confirmed "nests", and they are a protected species there. when a nest is found and reported, it is roped off and little perches are placed within the roped off area. The nests are found everywhere, even on the lawns of some of the multi million dollar homes there, some with sweeping water vistas. Anyway, they're just so darned cute!!

We had hoped to have lunch at one of our favorite places there, but unfortunately it was closed. So instead we went to a little tiki bar place on the water, but the food and service there was really awful. We had ordered nachos and wings, and both were really gross. How can you mess up nachos?!!!!

Since lunch took so long we realized we couldn't do much more on the island since we had to get back to let the dogs out, so we headed for the highway. We started seeing signs warning us that the highway ahead was closed, so we had to detour around the fires and thick smoke; so our little 2 hour ride took us nearly 3 hours to get back. It was worth it though and I know we'll visit there again, but not during this trip.

With 60% of the starting lineup on the DL, the Jays have already won as many games so far in May as they did the entire month of April.

Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
