Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I had a lot of fun at the chili cook-off today. Our team was very last minute. A couple teams had to drop out, so one of the pastor's and I formed a team to fill in. We ended up wining third place in people's choice. I'd say that was pretty good for being thrown together last minute.

This was the church gym when I arrived first thing this morning.

Here is our chili. It doesn't look too appetizing in this picture but it actually came out pretty good. And all things considered that's actually a little surprising. While we were cooking the chili my pastor was eating some M&M's and then he took a few of them and just thew them in the pot of chili. He's too funny. I guess that was our secret ingredient. :hilarious:

And this is the trophy we won.

Wow! First Place!! Way to go!!! And I also like the fact that this was all done for charity. What a nice gesture by you and your team.

I'm making chili today, believe it or not. :) I make a crock pot chili with ground turkey and all the other usual ingredients. The only difference each time I make it is whether I use black or red beans. Yes, I always use beans and ground turkey. I realize that some people only use meat in their chili, but I like both. :hungry:

@Nemo, those were some wonderful pictures (again)! I think this time, my favorites were the owl and the next pictures. It's even more rare to see an owl than an eagle. Good catch!

As for the wild pigs--stay far away from them. I saw a documentary on them and they're a real hazard.

I often use ground turkey as well. I don't like whole beans in my chili but sometimes I will purée black beans and put them in. That way we get the health benefit from the beans. Neither hubs or I care for whole beans, except green beans but those wouldn't go in chili.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I like almost any kind of bean. Coffee bean and vanilla bean being my favourite, but I digress.

So they are doing a drone light show during the super bowl half time.
I just hope they don't try to make a political statement this year. The country needs a break from all that for at least a few hours to simply enjoy a game, & the good-spirited fellowship such an event brings about.

Foggy morning
No sympathy from me. You ready for tonight, punk?

Reports have said that there will be a political statement during the halftime show. Not sure if that remains true, but Lady Gaga isn't someone to take a backseat when it comes to political issues.

It sounds like some of the ads will be political in any case. I can avoid those - I almost never watch ads even during the Super Bowl.
