I don't like the idea of them serving alcohol at MK because I know how Walt felt about that, but if it's there I'm going to have it. I don't drink a lot, and I've never been drunk. However, having a drink really helps with my social anxiety.

I just got the steak (rare of course).

I've read a lot of bad reviews, but I really liked everything. I also liked the corny jokes, but I like corny.

It looks good! Not what I expected after hearing all of the gripes! Glad to see you're having a great solo trip!

So last night after the Packers game, someone thought it would be a hoot to set off a box of Roman candles next to the pasture on the side of the road. Thank goodness we have strong fencing and gates. Looks like I have some repair work to do. Thanks whoever you were!

I just read that the famous seqouia tree that you could drive through fell down last night during the storms. I've driven through that back in the day, and it was quite impressive.

I did some digging and found this picture of DH's grandfather and friends at that tree back in 1915.

wow, that picture is awesome. But the fact that it fell is sad. Was it a 'dead' tree since it had that huge hole in it? I always wondered that.

We've had this discussion before. I hope I never lose my sense of wonder.

I am right. You are wrong. ;)
They're real and they are spectacular.
I kind of lost my sense of wonder when I watched them haul up a number of bodies from the base of the falls the year that they shut off the American Falls to see if they could do anything to clear up the debris at the bottom of the falls. They found out that if they moved that stuff away the entire falls was likely to collapse and would become the American Rapids. That was in 1969 and nothing much has changed since then. I did like going in the tunnel on the Canadian side and coming out on the backside of water. Almost as impressive as the Jungle Cruise. ;)

We will just go without comment on the "I am right. You are wrong" silliness. :cautious:

Isn't this lovely? Created by man, not God, but awe-inspiring anyway.

It's also the number one suicide location IN THE WORLD! Doesn't make it any less beautiful.

I didn't say it wasn't nice. I just said that it wasn't as awe-inspiring for me. It is really nothing more then water falling over the edge of something. Spill a coke on a dinner table and get the same thing. ;) It's the kind of stuff you expect from god whereas the GGB was built by man and it is awe-inspiring just because it's still standing. BTW, they figured that many of those at Niagara were accidental not suicides. But, it wasn't that even, it just took the sparkle off the place for me, just like if you saw someone jump from the GGB would maybe diminish the awe just a tad. Plus I saw it all the time, that also takes away a little shine. Actually, the one time when it was awe-inspiring was when the water flow stopped. That was fascinating to look at a dry waterfall. I'm being serious. It's like going into a deserted building and imagining all the stuff that once happened there. The same kind of thing that draws people into River Country or Body Wars or Cranium Command.

Really? I hadn't heard that. Maybe they have a new way of shoring up the walls that didn't exist 50 years ago. If they do, go see it, you will see what I mean. it is fascinating. The American Falls have always been the scrawny little bother of the Horseshoe Falls and no matter what they do it still is minor compared to the Cananadian side. The lights are nice, I don't remember if they even had them back then, probably did, but, when it came to looking at liquid stuff, I had other things that kept me busy at night. Downtown Buffalo was my go to place. Can't see the Falls from there. :joyfull:
