Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Really? I hadn't heard that. Maybe they have a new way of shoring up the walls that didn't exist 50 years ago. If they do, go see it, you will see what I mean. it is fascinating. The American Falls have always been the scrawny little bother of the Horseshoe Falls and no matter what they do it still is minor compared to the Cananadian side. The lights are nice, I don't remember if they even had them back then, probably did, but, when it came to looking at liquid stuff, I had other things that kept me busy at night. Downtown Buffalo was my go to place. Can't see the Falls from there. :joyfull:
2019, at the earliest. They need to rebuild the bridge (to Goat Island, if I recall). The water will again be diverted over the Horseshoe Falls.

The whole process is expected to last 9 months, so I will be sure to go see it numerous times, in various seasons.

The swapped out the projection lights in early 2016 to LED. They're brighter and more economical now.

Both pics are mine, ergo not very clear.

So last night after the Packers game, someone thought it would be a hoot to set off a box of Roman candles next to the pasture on the side of the road. Thank goodness we have strong fencing and gates. Looks like I have some repair work to do. Thanks whoever you were!

That's really discouraging. Even if I was a fan of consumer-grade fireworks, I would never set them off anywhere near animals. Obviously, you have a (quite visible) grazing pasture, and maybe the animals might have been in the barn for the night, when those fools set off the fireworks. Yet, as we know, animals get very frightened at loud noises. For some, it can even throw off their appetites. Sometimes, I just hate people!! :arghh:

I'm afraid that after being stationed there, I kind of lost my desire to watch water fall over the edge anymore. I'm funny that way.

Actually, I can almost understand that. If we see the same thing (even impressive nature sights) day in and day out, the effect can wane over time. I think it's just human nature.

I lived within spitting distance of Lake Champlain for 63 years. I didn't own a boat, I never went to that beach I didn't go and watch the sunsets, etc. I did occasionally ride the ferry's over to the Vermont and or New York side depending on what side I was living on at the time. I used to go to the ocean. Maine or New Hampshire! Walk on the beach, in the surf, get up early to see the sunrise, you know, all the touristy stuff. Many of the people that I knew that were from Maine, spent many a summer on Lake Champlain. Peoples is very, very strange. I understand that some even like winter... go figure! ;):D
