Me: Honey, I'm going to break your heart.
Hubby: What's up?
Me: I'm taking down the tree. I need to get the armchairs out of S's room in case he moves back early.
Hubby: (sad face) Okay, Baby.

Son #1 and the GF have broken up. I'd be surprised if he lasts there until the end of the month.

Of course the outside lights are staying up until March. Or beyond! I'm thinking of leaving the crabapple tree lights on permanently.

We were going to drive to Niagara Falls yesterday to see the lights, but it was pouring rain and dangerously foggy. Today, the temps have plummeted!

I had a number of errands to do downtown today, and am not the type to park, drive three blocks, park, drive three more ....

All told, I walked about 12 blocks downtown (and four earlier at the lab because I refuse to pay for parking), and by the time I was done, my face was stinging, and my ears hurt so bad I was nearly in tears.

No Niagara Falls today! It will have to wait.

This is a copy and paste from the site we are not able to link. Interesting.

When Disney and Lucasfilm negotiated to have Carrie Fisher reprise her role as Princess Leia in the newest Star Wars Trilogy, Disney took out an insurance policy with Lloyds Of London in the event that Fisher was not able to fulfill the three picture commitment. With Fisher passing on December 27th, Disney could receive a $50 million or higher payout from insurer Lloyds Of London.

From The Insurance Insider:

Insurers at Lloyd’s of London look set to pay out a significant contingency claim following the tragic death of Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, The Insurance Insider can reveal.

Sources said that Disney had taken out $50mn of so-called contract protection cover as insurance for the event that Fisher was unable to fulfil her obligations to act in the new Star Wars films, with the policy now likely to trigger.

Fisher died on Tuesday (27 December), four days after she suffered a heart attack on a flight between London and Los Angeles.

Filming for Star Wars Episode VIII, which will be released next year, was completed ahead of Fisher’s death.

Princess Leia was again slated to have a major role in Episode IX and it is not clear how Disney, which owns the Star Wars franchise, will choose to respond.

According to its website, Exceptional Risk Advisors is a specialist in high-limit specialty life, accident, and disability products, with underwriting authorities from Lloyd’s insurers that exceed $50mn per individual risk.

So, My Son in law and I played golf this morning. The wind was a little cool, so we both had to decide whether or not to sport our shorts or big boy pants. We both, for the first time ever, exercised our alleged older person wisdom and wore the Big Boys! The temperature was around the low 60's.

I checked out the forecast for the rest of the week and it appears that someone has scheduled the temperature to drop to 6 degrees by Sunday. That is totally unacceptable and in violation with my move to NC contract. By the end of next week we are supposed to be back to around 60 degrees again. What I need to know is which one of you folks up north left your door open and allowed that cold air to inch its way down here. Don't make us come up there.:mad:

Yawn . . . big ol' transparent threat . . . We all know that if you come up here, it won't be until the summer at the earliest, because you're too chicken to deal with our winter weather now! :hilarious:
