So apparently DH has noticed how witchy stressed I've been lately so he convinced me to go with him back to Newport today to see another mansion decorated for the holidays. I chose The Elms this time, since we did the Breakers last week or so. The Elms is less grandiose, but still pretty impressive. Here's a few pictures:

I love the Elms. Truth is, I love all of them, big or small, incredibly ornate or more understated. And as you know, they were just "summer cottages" for the wealthy . . .

So if they were only used during the summer, this Christmas thing must be kind of new. Or did they rent the place out to peons during the winter months?
