We went over to the stables after touring the house. We couldn't go inside, and the fountains were covered for the winter, but it was still prettyneat:

Then a quick visit to the gardens - (much more impressive in the summer)

Our yard is nicer. It's all concrete, and hubs has two boxing, punch bags out there. Oh, and we have 2 trash cans, too. (Not to brag, but talk about ambiance! :angelic: )

So if they were only used during the summer, this Christmas thing must be kind of new. Or did they rent the place out to peons during the winter months?
The staff lived there year round. They worked very hard keeping everything clean and polished.
Of course the coal miners who the owner of The Elms employed to earn his millions, worked harder...
