Everyone has cancelled on me. They're all sick. They haven't even eaten my cooking yet.
I have 10 lbs of my special potatoes, homemade gravy, an 8 1/2 kg turkey, stuffing, veg, and all the fixings ... for three of us.
Pretty sure there will be lots of leftovers.
The day of my son's first birthday party I got a call from my dad's brother that he had strep and wasn't going to be able to make it. I figured that covered him and his wife. How he didn't know he was sick the day before is beyond me but whatever I gave him the benefit of the doubt. His 2 daughters, both married and one with one kid at the time, didn't call or anything but didn't show up. My dad's other brother called my dad and said he and his wife were supposed to drive with the sick brother so they weren't coming either. The daughters couldn't have been planning to come with the parents - they all had regular sedans. Regardless, no phone call, email, text - nothing. The day of the even we were down 9 people because one was sick. They all live in NJ by the way - it's not like they had to navigate the frozen tundra. That's very sad and frustrating. I can't get this thought out of my head -- did they all get sick just yesterday morning?! People know that there's a ton of work in preparing a large meal like that, not to mention the extra expense of entertaining. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm really, really struggling here to give all these people a pass.

It was a good series. I was praying there at the end last night and my daughter's favorite Indian (Coco Crisp) hit the homer so she was a happy camper.Congratulations to all the Cleveland Indian fans. Well done.
Two of my brothers are on disability. They are unreliable at the best of times. Brother #2 (whom Hubby calls "the Big Hurt") was going to bring his friend, who is going through hard times. That's very sad and frustrating. I concur. I've actually said it before that Coco Crisp is the best name in baseball. And Albert Pujoles is the worst.Hubs and his pal (who is a season ticket holder for the Sox) are both disappointed. Yet, they acknowledged that the Cleveland team played very well, and neither one had any bad feelings toward that team. They were just looking forward to at least a 4th game here at home (especially with the Sox's Popi player, who's retiring and very popular), but, that didn't happen.
I'm glad I don't watch sports--way too stressful! However, I do love the name of that Cleveland player, Coco Crisp! Great name!!
I personally thought the Cleveland Indian players did a far superior job.Congratulations to all the Cleveland Indian fans. Well done.
The Indians have Charlie Sheen. That alone is worth any Jays' fan to be nervous about.Truth be told, I would have preferred the Jays' chances against Boston better than Cleveland. Hubby is happier with Cleveland; so there you go - only time will tell.
Hubba hubba. Back when Charlie was hot.I personally thought the Cleveland Indian players did a far superior job.

No good comes from exercise.Note to self: Don't take power walks when you're just getting over a week-long cold.
Was walking up a hill tonight and started seeing spots & flashes. Then, my entire left-side of my body had that tingling feeling you get when your foot falls asleep. So now I'm at the apartment watching a blurred Giants - Cubs game, realizing it was a wee bit too soon to start up the ole exercise rotuine after being down & out most of last wk.
Go Cubs.
Oh no! Maybe you're a little dehydrated from being sick? Rest up and drink water.Note to self: Don't take power walks when you're just getting over a week-long cold.
