Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Reading the Knife and Fork posts reminded me of a post that I made on my Facebook page just a few days ago. It was done as a lark and an effort to work my way out of a deep funk that I have been in for the past couple of weeks. I don't think I posted it here, or at least I don't remember doing it. If I did, chalk it up to dementia and move along.

How to be a better me!

So... In an effort to focus my mind on something positive instead of the constant barrage of worldly crap, I was listening to a motivational speaker the other day. The message was no matter what your age, make an attempt to improve yourself in some way, no matter how minor, and learn something new.

Therefore, at age 68 I decided that I wanted to learn how to use chopsticks with some proficiency. I bought some appropriate Asian food, acquired some actual chopsticks and sat in front of a couple of You-Tube instructional videos detailing how to use them properly. Thumb, ring finger, index finger.. the whole nine yards.

In this process I discovered a sensational bit of knowledge. The main knowledge I acquired was that I noticed that most Asian, chopstick dependent, people are thin and appear to be very small. The reason is that it requires a lot of effort to use chopsticks in a manner that would actually get the food to and past your lips where the nutritional value can be realized and utilized by the body.

I also discovered that it is nearly impossible to eat sufficient amounts of food to sustain life and marvel at how strong these people must truly be to not be extinct at this point.

One other thing I discovered was that the number one, most important invention ever created was the common fork. Without it mankind would have ended many years ago. A simple invention that doesn't require one to be double jointed in order to obtain sustenance. Even with the interference of the upper crust that insist that forks should be held upside down instead of the common sense curvature of the tines enabling food to be transported easily, it has still managed to be one of the most efficient tools known to our survival.;) :)
I'm sorry you're in a funk. The worldly crap is just too, too much to bear right now.

I had actually planned on sharing the following today, even before reading your post.

I feel stupider, but much less stressed in the past few months, since turning away from the daily barrage of news. The alligator incident is what clinched it for me. Hubby and I stayed up until almost 4:00 am watching the news conference, I got up two or three times to check my CNN app. I lost sleep like crazy.

I no longer watch any news, but for the 11:00 local newscast. I don't watch CNN, Fox, BNN, CBC or any talk shows. I took my phone charger out of my room, and now charge my phone downstairs - removing all temptation to check in on the world first thing/last thing.

I didn't get a single Hunter Pence joke earlier today. In fact, I wondered if he was one of the VP running mates. Clearly, I don't know who the VP running mates are. I didn't know a thing about Hurricane Matthew until late last night. And I don't even attempt to use chopsticks.

Stupider, yes. But far more relaxed.

@NYwdwfan Will you tell one of your guys to score already! :D
If only I'd seen this last night!

I'm using all of my energy to be proud of what they accomplished at the end of the season to even make it to the wildcard. While they had a lot of injuries, the guys they used to plug the holes did a phenomenal job.

Oh look...it's hockey season.

Started reading the hurricane Matthew thread up in N&R, before I left for work this morning. Came home an hour ago and good lord, I just got caught up--30 more pages later!!

Fascinating, scary thread--I certainly hope the hurricane isn't as bad as predicted. I'm very concerned for all the residents and tourists in Florida now--not to mention, further up the seaboard--Georgia, and S. Carolina. Ugh.

Lol. Yes, why? Because of baseball?
I've seen marriages break up over less.

If it makes you feel any better, I was at work and didn't see or hear a single pitch. Thank goodness for smart phones and sports apps. At least I could check the score every inning.

What do you mean "anymore"? :cautious:

I mean, it was once dedicated to the hard-hitting investigative talents in order to strategically locate the exact positioning of where Bob Saget is not, but now it's spiraled off into something unrealistic and ridiculous! C'mon people, let's get back to the issues that truly matter.
