I'm staying out of the Matthew thread, but I really don't get all the posts about how lucky Florida was, how wonderful everything is, and how the parks should be re-opened already. Reports are 4 dead in Florida already (in addition to the hundreds in Haiti) with widespread power outages and flooding. I wonder sometimes about people.

I'm not sure I understand why people that didn't get harmed should feel guilty about not being harmed. I'm not sure how that is honoring those that weren't so lucky. It is certainly understandable that one would celebrate having a potential disaster miss them. It doesn't mean that one cannot also feel bad for those that didn't fair that well.

As far as the parks opening fast enough... that is the thoughtless part of it. Those that are hanging around WDW totally oblivious to the probably fact that many have to clean up whatever messes the storm has left behind and possibly have to dodge downed power lines to get to the parks so that they can get their jollies. Well, that's unforgivable. But, also what we can expect from todays human. We really don't deserve all the blessings that we have. Really!
