I have all stainless steel. The only thing I don't like is they are a pain to clean.

I only moved to SS because my old dishwasher started leaking, and its replacement was a custom order 18". As it was, I waited more than 6 months for it.

If I'd been able to replace it with black again, my black and bisque stove, black OTR, and bisque fridge would have continued to match just fine.

When we redid our kitchen many years ago, I wanted "almond" appliances. Money was tight and our white stove was still working fine, so we kept that for another decade or so. When we replaced that, "almond" was no longer available, so the stove is technically bisque while the fridge and dishwasher are "almond". I really don't care - the difference is hardly noticeable, but i'm sure some people would see it a a fashion faux pas.

We don't have them either. We got new counter tops this winter and it is laminate, it looks nice enough for me.

If we ever redo our counters, I'd love to have Corian, but I'm in no hurry to do that.

Am I the only person who doesn't have granite countertops?

Hubby wants to get them, with a new backsplash, and an undermount sink, but I'm too cheap. There's nothing wrong with what we have.

Your house is gorgeous, because you have a flair for beautiful interior design. So I'm sticking with you on this one. Besides, you can scare off hubby by telling him that granite countertops emit radiation (radon) and that's not good. (Of course, the debate is ongoing about just how much they emit, but just saying . . .)

The one year I worked at our Design Studio, Corian was the thing!

I was doing colour charts for a certain ethnic group that likes green. A lot.

Green tile. Green paint. Green Corian. And emerald green maple cabinets.

Just for fun, some of them chose pink paint.

And they were all ecstatic with their choices, so who was I to judge.

I saw in the grocery store some special cleaner for stainless appliances. Have you tried something along those lines?

I have a stainless sink too. Unfortunately it's just a single sink, which is a pain in the neck.

I use a dish pan so that I can still dump things in the sink while I wash the dishes. I'd kill for a double sink, but there's just no room for it.

When I was in college we had an avocado green stove and a white refrigerator, and then in my single days my stove was harvest gold and still a white fridge. I still have a white fridge today but I have a black stove. I guess I'm not destined to have matching colored appliances.

I'm pretty sure some of those colour combinations would keep me up at night.

When I was a kid, our family's kitchen had copper colored appliances -- at least they were more pleasing than avocado!

We had harvest gold, but it was the late 70's so everyone else did too, and my dad had worked two EXTRA jobs so my mom could have brand new appliances for her brand new house.

Those appliances were bought with love, and my mom treasured them. 40 years ago, and I still remember the stove was a Hotpoint, and the fridge was a Coldspot. I knew it was funny even then.

I have one of those options yes. Still not as good as they say.

Eric, I never heard of this before. I read ahead of your post as well, and saw that someone mentioned it was a failure years ago and now it's back for a second time. So, I'm wondering if it's only distributed in certain markets -- not mine. I'm not much of a soda drinker, but I'd definitely try it.

I think it should be available in your area. The store I went to only had them in the fridges by the checkout lines.
