Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

That's how I thought. I like colors. The tendency now is stainless and white. I love wood grain cabinets, but, everyone I know is painting them white. Why? Wood is beautiful... paint to me is cheap. Maybe I'm just too old to understand. Painted white cabinets are what we used to find in the 'projects'. White everything is just plain bland and lacking in "room" personality.

I love wood, too. However, I've never subscribed to the "one size fits all" theory. I've seen white in some kitchens that looked very nice. It just depends on multiple factors including room size, lighting, colors of appliances, counters, etc. Where I live, the cabinets are white and it really brightens up the room. Never had white cabinets in a kitchen before, but in a smaller space, it looks great.

By the way, I'm glad you turned down the $200 increase just to have granite counter tops and stainless appliances. Certainly, there are better uses for you, for $2,400 extra a year . . . ;)

It sounds nice to me.

I honestly just don't get modern interior design. My parents recently redecorated there master bedroom in grey. I'm glad they like it, but I just find it very cold.

I'm not a fan of grey either. I recall when I worked for a CEO of a hotel company, he decided to redo his office in grey. Spent a fortune on wall covering, carpets and furniture--all designer, most of it brought over from Italy. He thought the grey was "soothing". I hated it and thought the office looked cold and sterile. The only other "color" in there were a few black leather guest chairs.

He was so picky about the office, too--rarely you'd see as much as a piece of paper on his shiny grey, designer desk. (The desk had an unusual shape to the top, and sleek sides--not like a real desk at all--no drawers, etc.) Talk about minimalist design to the extreme. If he needed to use a pen or paper, he came out and asked me for some. He had his sleek designer phone on the "desk", and that was all he wanted.

It wasn't so much about being an office--it was more of a showplace in his mind. And after all that money, he was rarely there anyway. He traveled the world and only stopped into the administration offices once in a while.

When I was a kid, our family's kitchen had copper colored appliances -- at least they were more pleasing than avocado! :p

My favorite color is green, so the avocado didn't bother me. Although the harvest gold reminded me of my mom's kitchen when I was a kid, we had the harvest gold appliances. I really like my black stove now, and it would be nice to have matching ones but the other appliances work just fine.

The two flavors are fine separately, but not together. They sorta compete between the orange sherbert and the vanilla ice cream. Never liked Creamsicles because of the struggle. :p
Well, that's just sad!!! Creamsicles are shipped directly from heaven. The only thing superior would be a Mickey Bar or Blue Bunny... Bunny Tracks.
