Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

You know what's funny?
So you get suspended for winning the fight?...I guess he should have lost.

:)

"Odor said Sunday that he expected a suspension, and on Monday he said he didn't regret hitting Bautista."

I hope these teams can meet in the postseason again.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

You get suspended for throwing the first punch - and starting the fight.
Hard slides, with cleats down, are a part of the game.

And yes, I would love to see these two teams have at it in the post-season.

I know...just giving you a hard time...

in regards to the slide...isn't that slide illegal now? I know it wasn't in the past, but I am reading that it was recently changed...I don't know as I do not follow MLB rule changes.

Players can still slide. I don't know the finer points on the Chase Utley rule.

And yes, I know you're just giving me a hard time. :)

I had to look it up myself:p

The new rule is basically so the runner can't deliberately try to break up a double play, whether that be sliding outside the baseline, or using their body to try and disrupt the throw.

My two cents - I think as long as the runner isn't trying to hurt the thrower and just trying to break up the double play....that's baseball.

I had to look it up myself:p The illegal part was grabbing the leg to try and break up the double play (I believe)

I agree. Most players and managers believe the new rule has sissified the game.

I just realized I had the wrong video haha

I guess Baustista has been involved in this rule twice...I personally think it's a rule that's unnecessary. Sometimes contact is inevitable
That clip was from the third game of the season.
Ended the game, preventing the Jays from sweeping the Rays. The voice speaking is Gregg Zaun, former Blue Jays catcher.

When Joey Bats was called out on the play, the whole country shouted "Bull ****" in chorus.

I should have screen shot my FB in the minutes following the call. :jawdrop:

I remember the game, the call, the outrage, all too well.

While a hard slide...this one seemed less offensive than the other video I had...like what's he supposed to do...give up? (And I'm a Yankees fan:p)

FYI - the voiceover in that clip is Buck Martinez, a decidedly under the weather Buck.
Buck was the Jays' GM briefly many moons ago.

I watch/listen to almost every game. Couldn't tell you a single thing about any other team; but I know my Jays.

We spent the first night of our honeymoon at the Skydome Hotel; watched a Sunday afternoon game from our room (with my parents), and then flew out on Monday for our honeymoon ... in Florida.

Joe Carter waved to us. 1993 was a very good year.

I have a baseball card of Buck Martinez from when he was catcher for the Royals.

I've always thought sliding at the 2B when he's nowhere near the baseline should get you thrown out of the game. Otherwise I can see both sides on the new rule.

Someone dialed my office extension last night and left a 5 minute long voicemail muttering about leeches crawling out of the drain and a vacuum. o_O

I lasted 30 seconds before deleting it. Probably should have saved it so the police have a clue when I'm murdered by whoever sent it.

Maybe somebody thought they were calling their property manager, and simply mis-dialed.

Otherwise, it's been lovely getting to know you.
