Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Just popped in to see Auntie and drop off a plate of leftovers (actually, I prepared hers before anyone else ate, so not really leftovers), and she is sick!

Oh my gosh, she looked just like my mother - which means "not good"!

She is over the parasite, so this is clearly a side effect from her Pulmonary Fibrosis medication. :(
She can't keep taking this life-extending medication if it's going to kill her in another way.

I took one look at her and sent her to bed. Her kitchen is in shambles, so I told her to just leave all the mess, and I would come clean it tomorrow.

She lost 10 lbs in Africa, and at least that since she's been home. Not good.

I couldn't multi quote my reply to this -

My heart breaks that she's in such poor health. I know how special she is to you - and quite honestly the world - and it just makes me sad she's having such a tough time. I hope rest does the trick. I'll be sending thoughts and prayers her way.

Sympathies to your Auntie, I'm sure your help in the kitchen clean up will relieve her mind a little. I hope things get better.:)

So sorry to hear this - I'll keep her in my prayers.

Hubby - Is that your crust?
Me - Yes.
H - Why would you do that?
Me - 'Cause sometimes you eat my crust.
H - And sometimes I don't.
Me - Yeah, but if I throw it in the garbage, for sure you won't.
H - True.
Me - Throw it out then.
H - No, I'm gonna eat it.

I'm Abbott. He's Costello.

Is Good Friday not a stat in the States?
Everything here is locked up tighter than a drum. And then again on Sunday.

It's not a holiday here. Yet, important to note that the N.Y. Stock Exchange is always closed down on Good Friday--hence, a lot of the big financial "houses" are also either closed, or working with a reduced staffing level. Same for Boston in our financial district--not quite a ghost town down there yesterday, but many are off, due to markets being closed on Good Friday.

As for moi, I was stunned that my boss let me leave (with full pay) at 2:00 yesterday!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!! (That doesn't happen very often in hospitals; we're all technically "essential" personnel.)

Maybe now that she's comfortably situated in Canada, her overall health will improve. It will just take time, that's all. She's fortunate that you can look in on her, if for no other reason, than to cheer her up. Nice that you offered to help her clean the kitchen, too.

What a nice bonus to leave early with full pay!? I hope you enjoyed a little extra free time. Did you do anything fun?
