We're weighing possibilities. We have some SW credits to use up before they expire, so we're thinking of maybe a West trip for a few days or so. Trying not to spend much because we want to go to Alaska next year.Any ideas where?
You'll want to avoid going to the Grand Canyon. Even just flying over it is underwhelming. We're weighing possibilities. I flew into it once. The yawning started the moment the helicopter began to descend into that kind of large hole. Not a single character from Frozen was down there. The movie not existing yet is not an excuse for that oversight! You'll want to avoid going to the Grand Canyon. Even just flying over it is underwhelming.
Jellystone Park?I'm thinking of maybe Yellowstone park. i haven't been there in a long time and DH has never been.
I've done the helicopter thing, hiked a bit of it, camped out in it and seen in it all seasons, and I never get tired of it.I flew into it once. I'd love an option that combined the helicopter, a night camping at the bottom, and a long hike the next morning before heading back to the heliport.I've done the helicopter thing, hiked a bit of it, camped out in it and seen in it all seasons, and I never get tired of it.
and rafting of course.I'd love an option that combined the helicopter, a night camping at the bottom, and a long hike the next morning before heading back to the heliport.
I've never been rafting. I might have to see if there are any opportunities for that on some of our trip ideas for next year.and rafting of course.
I've rafted on the Colorado, but not through the GC.
There's a raft trip out of Page,AZ that does the stretch of the Colorado between Glen canyon dam and the Grand Canyon. It's a pretty tame ride and the scenery is breathtaking. He'd better not steal my pic-a-nic basket!
WV and western PA have whitewater rafting.I've never been rafting. I might have to see if there are any opportunities for that on some of our trip ideas for next year.
