Despite the crap weather, I got out to the craft store after a friend (enabler!) tipped me off to a 70% off faux flower sale. I got two stick wreaths, a bunch of flowers, two faux birds, two faux bird nests and it cost me under $40 with enough parts to spare...so I will be making a new basket for my office.

My initial summer wreath plan looked like this:

But after flower shopping and sorting, I came up with this: (and pardon, I was wreath making out on the deck, because why not)

Final product, after a little fluffing and placed on front door:

I made an identical one, but with a different bird, for my Mom.

I realized that I still had my, ahem, Easter carrot and bunny decoration on my front door and needed to switch it out. I normally come in through the garage and hardly ever really use the front door... The tip off came just in time :)

And pardon the slightly craptacular pics, I took them with low light and on my iPad. They're not the best. My regular cameras batteries are charging :)

Wow! I think it's great that you have real live horses! Horses are so pretty and are sweet and friendly. We don't have any horses around here (sort of surburban/urban area) and I only get to see them in country farm areas. How many horses do you have? What are their names?

My dog and I love horses. Daisy took to them right aay, and because of her...err, ditzy demeanor, the horses rather like her too! When we go to South Park, she drags me to the horse stables and the horses KNOW her, and come out and over to the fence. They sniff and lick each other. It's so cute, it hurts :inlove:

You have artistic talent! That wreath is beautiful. I've seen wreaths like this for sale, and they're expensive.

I tried to find a dancing narwhal, and this is the best I could find.

I saw your front door and did a double take. I went and took a picture of my front door.

Their barn names are Dually, Diesel, D3, Elliot, Braveheart, Pillo and T-man. One of the benefits of getting transferred from Chicago to Green Bay - you get to go from the congested city life to the country life. Pricewise, you can buy a farm up here for the same price as a decent sized house down there. Then you can grow your own hay and horses become very affordable...

Seven horses—oh, happy day! I'm glad you've found your own little slice of paradise on your country farm. Sounds lovely . . . :)

The downfall is the winters only get worse as you go north.

Aw, thank you. I enjoy all forms of art and have only recently gotten into floral arrangements and wreath making. It's relaxing for me. I enjoy tying each piece with craft wire to the wreath...most people hate that, lol :) I'm ok with being different.
