Wow - our clothing prices must be crazy up here (I know shoes are), but every single one of Hubby's 8 or 9 jackets cost $400.
Size 52 chest. Shirts - 17 1/2 neck, 36 sleeve, so still able to buy off the rack, usually.
For a full fitted suit I can see paying $400. For something silly looking like that stuff though I can't justify it. $100 I would buy that jacket and the black and white one I pointed out before.

Prices are definitely higher up here.

A non-big-name-brand suit runs about $700.
Hubby prefers to buy jackets and slacks separately though. A 52 jacket is paired with 52 pants. It takes a lot of tailoring to get them down to 36/38.

Even my son's cheapie grad suit, on sale, cost me $300. Vest and pocket square took it over $400.

We love buying ties in the States. $50 ties down there, cost $90+ up here.
Hence our 2 x 48-hr. shopping trips every year. $400 duty free exemption x 2 (3, if we bring one of the kids) twice a year adds up to a lot of savings!

Wonder how the newborn got from Wisconsin to Iowa? Without a trace, parents worst nightmare. Only to be found in a duffle bag. Oy. Amen.

I buy my ties in places like Marshalls and Kohls. I could never justify paying a lot for them considering how I mistreat them.

Don't let the beautiful sunshine fool you. More snow on the way this weekend. Thankfully NOT the initially predicted 15-20 cm (6-9 inches).

Blah. We are to get about 3-4 inches tomorrow, also down from the original predictions. Still have to shovel it and the mounds are taller than me now. Annoying already.

Wow. At the clothing store I work at part time we sell suits all day long for $150-$350. They are not the best you can buy, but they are good quality product and we get a lot of repeat business and referrals. Average price for us is probably around $175-$200. We also run specials sometimes where you can get a suit for $150 with a shirt and tie thrown in. We sell $40 shirts and $40 ties all the time at half that price. At those prices, a lot of times guys will come in lookin' for just one suit and leave with 2-3. Happened on the shift I covered this past Thursday night. Guy was in with his wife and when I told him how well one of the suit coats went with jeans his wife said... "Heck, at that price, just get 'em both!" :)

Things have been really stupid around here weather-wise, lately. A little while back when we had those 2 ice events and there were all those accidents apparently a lot of folks were peeved that schools and so forth were not delayed longer or closed altogether and then we ended up with those temps in the 60's and 70's.
Well, yesterday morning I'm on my way into the office I was tryin' to figure out why there was no action whatsoever at the 2 schools I drive by on my way to the office. Was it some teacher work day or some holiday I didn't know about? It was 26 degrees and overcast, but there wasn't a drop of moisture on the ground and I got to the office in record time. When I got to the office one of my coworkers told me his kids schools had been delayed 2 hours 'cause there was supposed to be another ice event. Yesterday they started predicting yet another one for overnight last night and this time it was gonna' be the real thing so all the local school districts, etc., cancelled for today. It was 28 when I woke up this mornin' and went to look out the back door. Dry as a bone. When I turned on the news they said we weren't outta' the woods yet and that it could start to get bad around 9a 'cause the moisture was just runnin' a little late. Left for the office around 7:30 and, again, made it in a flash. And, guess what. When I left the office around 2-ish it was 35 or so degrees and not a drop of any moisture in sight.
34 here right now and supposed to be 30 overnight. High of 67 tomorrow and then 75 on Sunday.

I know I really shouldn't be complainin', but it seems like with today's tech, meteorologists should be able to get a little bit closer to predicting the weather more accurately than back in the stone age. :grumpy:  ;)
