Whatever snow that remains here is now ice. There isn't even snow under it, it's just ice. More on the way this weekend.

Happy happy joy joy.

T minus six days till the big 3-0. Freaking out? Yes. Yes I am.

I need a Mickey bar.

If by "3-0" you mean turnin' 30, HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY ya' young pup!!! :joyfull:
I'm 51 and still feel like I'm 30 most of the time. Other times 80. No big deal. :D ;) :)

Edit: If they made Mickey Beer I'd toast your b-day with that. But, the cheap carp I picked up from the store earlier will have to do. ;) Cheers! :)

In all fairness, the numbers don't matter as much to men.

Things have been really stupid around here weather-wise, lately. A little while back when we had those 2 ice events and there were all those accidents apparently a lot of folks were peeved that schools and so forth were not delayed longer or closed altogether and then we ended up with those temps in the 60's and 70's.
Well, yesterday morning I'm on my way into the office I was tryin' to figure out why there was no action whatsoever at the 2 schools I drive by on my way to the office. Was it some teacher work day or some holiday I didn't know about? It was 26 degrees and overcast, but there wasn't a drop of moisture on the ground and I got to the office in record time. When I got to the office one of my coworkers told me his kids schools had been delayed 2 hours 'cause there was supposed to be another ice event. Yesterday they started predicting yet another one for overnight last night and this time it was gonna' be the real thing so all the local school districts, etc., cancelled for today. It was 28 when I woke up this mornin' and went to look out the back door. Dry as a bone. When I turned on the news they said we weren't outta' the woods yet and that it could start to get bad around 9a 'cause the moisture was just runnin' a little late. Left for the office around 7:30 and, again, made it in a flash. And, guess what. When I left the office around 2-ish it was 35 or so degrees and not a drop of any moisture in sight.
34 here right now and supposed to be 30 overnight. High of 67 tomorrow and then 75 on Sunday.

I know I really shouldn't be complainin', but it seems like with today's tech, meteorologists should be able to get a little bit closer to predicting the weather more accurately than back in the stone age. :grumpy:  ;)

I have the desire to pinch some of our administrators real hard sometimes. Weather, sure glad it is their call and not ours. The schools got beat up real bad in Atlanta, I on the other hand soooo understand how that happened. Well minus the part of not knowing where chunks of those kids were, that was bad.

That looks like here, only we don't have sidewalks in my neighborhood, so the piles don't look so "mountainous" near the streets.
yikes.. you have to "swim" in the snow now?
We've now had 21 days total of Zero or below this year. Sucks the life out of ya.

They do the times I feel like I'm 80. :D ;) :)
The soul is what is important imho.

funnily, my birthday is this 9 too, and I'm towards 31.
It feels weird to have already used 40% of all your life (in average comparison of life expectancy)

until we hit 5-0 :(
My dad was good until 6-0.

I was turning 4-0 just a few weeks before his 60th, and he was teasing me mercilessly.
And then I reminded him, "Listen old man. When I turn 40, you turn 60. Now how does 40 sound?"

Little did I know that he would only see two more birthdays.

I am actually having a very hard day today. All teary and weepy. I even went to the cemetery, knowing that I would only see the tip of the cross from beneath 3-4' of snow.
Stupid Olympics!

Does anyone think I maybe need some grief counselling? It's been almost four years.

Thanks! We are going to haufbrahaus tomorrow... German beer and food and dancing and beer and food and shot luge. Kinda excited. More excited about the birthday cake that follows! I'm bring a pig and double dipping on the b day cake. Having it tomorrow aaaand again on my actual birthday.

I don't wanna think about what happens after age 39.

Oh yay! We had my Dad's 85th Birthday at Haufbrahaus. So much fun, though he didn't dance on the table the way he and my sister did at my wedding. Have fun!
