So I just talked to a co-worker who saw a film called The Conjuring today. He raves about how good of a horror/ghost film it is. To be honest, I have been very disappointed in horror films of the past decade (minus Sharknado, that is). They just don't have that fun scare factor like when I was a kid. But he insists this is an old-school type of horror film (The Shining, Exorcist, Amityville) that actually makes people appreciate the genre. I might give it a try. Though I prefer to watch those types of films in October closer to Halloween, and in a dark apartment rather than a theater with cell phones & other distractions.

I find many recent horror movies to have awful story plots (again, aside from Sharknado). They all have a monster/creepy little girl who lives in an old house/forest and terrorizes people. And the movie never goes anywhere. I haven't watched a horror in so long.

I usually don't care for horror films except for October. Then, I usually crave a good one or two. But other than that one month...meh, not really.
