I went to Sea World once years ago, and I liked it, but the Sea theme isn't really my thing. I'm partial to Disney. I think a lot of it is nostalgia.

If I could have it my way I'd go to Florida for two or three weeks and do quite a bit of Disney, some Sea World, some UNI, and then some non-park things. Maybe go to the beach, and other things.

See nostalgia is why we've kind of phased Disney out - it pains me to see the great dumbing down.

The difference is I first went in 2002. I still have most of what I grew to love, but I see where you and others are coming from. Even I've noticed declining quality.

I still have hope that Disney will turn it around and start going upward again.

Just never got around to it. Sort of attached to Disney. My parents wanted to take me when I was 8 years old and would be tall enough for the bigger stuff, but then my brother came along when I was 6. We've been wanting to do it, but we'd have to rent a car, possibly stay over there (we use DVC to stay at Disney), buy another set of tickets (we have premium annuals) and the cost just adds up. It's on my to-do list. It might just not happen until I'm living down there or down on the college program

Is this a Disney trip?
probably not. Sea World and a lot of canoeing
Then you just don't know how to travel correctly. :p;)

In all seriousness, I agree with others in that there is so much to see & do in Fla besides the theme park scene. Some of my fondest, most relaxed moments have been on a kayak in the inlets & waterways along the Gulf. Hope you're having a great time. Please keep the pics coming!!

I feel so badly for people who come to Orlando and never leave Disney. I realize there is only so much time and money, though. Hard choices have to be made!

No reason to feel bad for us. It's our choice. Personally, I get there and don't want to leave. But we also take it kind of slow, especially in the summer, so it takes us two weeks to get anything done. We stay at BCV, so most of the day is spent chilling at the pool. It's not unusual for us to go into the Epcot for about three-four hours in the evening. We have premium annuals, so we're also doing Disney Quest and the water parks. There's enough to do on property that we don't feel the need to leave. We also take a June trip someplace else, so it's something different. When we go to Florida, it's for Disney. Plus, renting a car costs $$$. Actually, last trip I left property to go see UCF (not going there, but anyway) and it felt weird. Could not wait to get back on property. I also have Hershey and several other parks fairly close, and I prefer the beach in SC. Hilton Head Island specifically.
