I considered using it for a Disney vid for my trip...but it's too heartfelt, and to serious...

Even though being away from the kid, I relate a lot to it. A lot of missed memories.

I was there for her first words, her first walk, but I missed so many other things due to distance. And while we chatter on facetime (and before that skype, and before that on phone)...it is not the same.

Not the same at all...
Aww, I'm sorry. :( It has to be hard on her too. Little girls really need their daddies.

Hey, Push, did you see any pics of the '85 Bears up in the locker room or anywhere? Just curious! :)

Holy crap. That is so much vacation time! I'd feel like I'm never home! And two weeks!? That's insane, really. Especially when you live in Maryland. :p

And a trip across the country and then across the ocean is definitely not a bad graduation gift. I'm just waiting for June. Little more than a month. I can't really think about the trip, though. Life's pretty busy right now, as it tends to be in May.

EDIT: Have fun on the trips, too!
If you feel like snooping my profile, it has the number of Disney trips on it (yes I've counted). Florida is like my second home now. Actually, I'm going to move down there once I graduate college. I hear you about May. I'm going crazy with having AP exams next week and then finals the week after. AHHH!!!

And thank you!

I'm still here, always here. I got her a laptop a few years ago and we built a website together (she wrote it, with a lot of "guidance" of course, using a classic text editor and FTP style, so she really learns the tech...this year I think we'll update it, but I'll be darned if we slap a Wordpress template on it and run with things...she needs to learn what the code is and what it does, and with that comes logic, etc...

So, many years in development (though, my god, she has no natural layout skills! But, who does?)...

Last year, after experiencing the difference between facetime and skype, I got her an iTouch. That's mostly how we stay in connection now.

She calls me up a few times a week, or I call her, and we read her stories and talk about how she's doing. We've done this for years now. The last book we finished was Beezus and Ramona (which she quite proudly read most of to me).

Her stepfather is a great guy, her mother is a great gal, but nothing beats being there with your kid.

I do miss her. I'll end this sob story now, sorry...

Sounds like you're doing a fantastic job, considering the circumstances.

Well, I'm going to hit the hay for tonight. Got up at 3 this morning. Have to be up at 6:30 tomorrow. I'm running on very little sleep, and that does not do me well.

Good night fellow Sageteers!

Where's my royalty for quoting that term? <grin>

My brother took a bunch of AP classes and didn't even study for the final tests because he had his As locked up, had already been accepted to his dream school and knew all he had to do was pass.

He said the tests were easy. I would have to ask him, but if I remember it right, he didn't miss a single question, like pretty much every test he ever took, lol. His entire scholastic career, including four years of undergrad and three years of law school (in top-notch schools!), he got one B. And it ed him off something royal. I still remember the day, because he came home from school slamming the door, slamming his bag down and then kicking something. (Good thing it's the only B he ever got!)

My son did AP, too, and said it wasn't bad at all.

I didn't take AP classes. But I took Home Ec with my boyfriend and he walked me home from school and kissed my hand while we watched Chuck Woolery's Love Connection! (Back in two and two! ;) ) Then he kissed me for real. So, we all had good times. :)

There's a lot of specifics involving it. They just have some strange laws. Mostly involving Sundays

Yes, there are. They are called blue laws. And they have specific state provisions for Charleston. How do I know? I used to run restaurants in SC that sold booze, and had to deal with their licensing, etc.
