In my accounting class senior year, the teacher (my mom....) would play the radio during work time, and this song would always play.
You should listen to this review (mind you, I love Alicia Keyes)Another song that would play every day was "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys. That was a fun one, though. At my friend's place one night, we had a karaoke session with that song.
People wait 2 hours for a 2 minute Peter Pan ride.
I completely agree. "Girl on Fire" is a horribly written song, and it probably has some of the worst lyrics I've seen in a popular song in recent years. But I like the beat and vocals, and it kind of became our joke song. You should listen to this review (mind you, I love Alicia Keyes)

I don't think many can, and "interactive queues", while a great idea, work for parents, but not adults.Good point. For some reason I can stand in a line if it's moving - even at a snail's pace - since I feel like I'm "making progress" but I can't just sit still.
I like Todd, his reviews are awesome. Check out Rap Critic there as well...he's friggin brilliant. For example...I completely agree. I wouldn't recognize any rap songs; I find most rap to be awful. Beat-wise at least... I just can't listen to it.I like Todd, his reviews are awesome. Check out Rap Critic there as well...he's friggin brilliant. For example...

Nice beat, but he's 100% on point (the Rap Critic), I think...
I grew up in the golden age of it (god, that sounds terrible, considering even then for the most part it was the worst of the worst), but musically, there were several artists who where amazing (Snoop being one of them, though he never changed his style after Dre...well, until he became "Snoop Lion" last year or so)...I wouldn't recognize any rap songs; I find most rap to be awful. You have to put it into context, regarding the beat. This song is popular because it's a good play off of a more intense song. For a DJ it's a "low energy song" to play after a high energy one. Meaning...it's no different than "Wait till you see my Richard" (figure it out)...in a club.I wouldn't recognize any rap songs; I find most rap to be awful. Beat-wise at least... Most popular rap songs have a chorus. They are just percussion based. It's like the drum corps without the rest of the band.I find that the rap songs I do like have some form of traditional singing during it, like the chorus or something.
Yes, but I like the ones that have singing during the chorus. Maybe it's just because I can't keep up to a lot of rap lyrically. And I like to be able to keep up to something. Most popular rap songs have a chorus. They are just percussion based. It's like the drum corps without the rest of the band.
This is why southern Rap won out over the rest though during that era (the friggin 90s...)I find that the rap songs I do like have some form of traditional singing during it, like the chorus or something.
Not really. I don't really care for older rap at all... don't know why, just don't. I wish I could think of an example right now, but cant'Is that what you meant @PUSH?
Works for me!Not really. I don't really care for older rap at all... don't know why, just don't. I wish I could think of an example right now, but cant'
