Funny thing...to me anyway. When I lived in Vermont whenever I found myself in a restaurant that served Grits, I got them. Now that I live in North Carolina, I hardly ever have them and they are everywhere. We always want what we can't have.

OK, back to whatever the hell you guys are talking about, I'm just going to nap for awhile.:cautious:

Our Perkins closed, our Denny's closed and a year later reopened, our Cracker Barrel always has a wait. Bob Evans is our favorite. (Although last year-since there's only two of us-we did go to Cracker Barrel on Thanksgiving.)

Our Cracker Barrel is awful - nothing like the ones we've eaten at in the South. We don't have Bob Evans here, but it was my mother's favorite in FL.

I have a Perkins and an IHOP. By my mom's there is a Cracker Barrel, but it isn't THAT Cracker Barrel. Its a deli/pizza place that just has the same name as a major chain. It is how her community lures unsuspecting travelers into their midst for nefarious purposes.

Nearest Cracker Barrel and Denny's is about 1 hour away. We have a Perkins and IHOP 20-30 minutes away.

No Cracker Barrel, no Perkins and just one Denny's. We do have a ton of IHOPs though. And the typical NY/NJ diner. They are EVERYWHERE. I love diners.
NY diners are awesome. The best part of DS" 4 years of Hofstra was eating at the diners whenever we'd visit.

No Perkins, but we do have a couple of Denny's....and a Cracker Barrel.
Three things you will not find in Vermont...Cracker Barrel, Perkins and Golden Corral. Oh, yea, two more. No Chick fil A or Sonic. That's just the start. If I had the time to think or desire to think about it there are probably more that Vermont doesn't have then they do have. Heck, you can hardly find a Wendy's and that aughta be criminal.

North Carolina, by contrast, has every chain restaurant known to man. Just thought of another one...no Bob Evans in Vt. either.
