I won't know until tomorrow, when I take her to the vet, but I am concerned.

Long story...

And, she just came back from a visit with my parents last week...now she barely eats, hasn't pooped in two days, and just is weak (not seems weak, IS weak).

Granted, she's 14, so...that makes it harder to diagnose, but...
Could be an intestinal infection. If she's barely eating, it makes sense that she's also not pooping, and that she's weak. Or it could be something else (like kidney failure, but when my cat had that, he could not control his bowel movements, so I would think not). Hoping it's something that can be taken care of with antibiotics.

If time has come to say goodbye, I'm not ready.

I love her..she's been with me since I was a big dancing mouse...

OK - a fashion question for those in the know...
We're going to a wedding in mid-September for 2 very dear friends, both widowed, so it's a second marriage for each. It's a small late-afternoon ceremony by a pond at her place followed by a reception at a local restaurant. The invitation says casual dress.
What I want to wear is a tea-length sun dress with shrug over it that's in muted shades of blues and greens. My husband thinks it's too dressy for the occasion, but I feel like I'd rather be "too dressy" than not dressy enough, if you know what I mean. My other possibility is a long skirt/ dressy blouse type thing or pants with a dressy top. Any suggestions?

My cat passed last night. At 16...I guess we really shouldn't be surprised...but it's still a surprise...

I'm soooo sorry. ((hug)) I remember when my cat Pete passed - he had been my buddy through a lot of good times and some very hard times. I knew he was dying and I had finally made the decision to have him put down. The night before I was to take him,he passed quietly as if he knew how hard that choice was for me.

We were going to the vet today because she wasn't acting right...but she was active...purring and acting tired, but still interactive last night.

She ate, she drank...nothing to make me feel like it was an emergency...just that she wasn't feeling well...

I woke up this morning and she was curled at my feet. I thought...ok, I'll pick her up and she'll complain, like normal, and set her on her chair. Then go about the morning routine.

She...didn't complain...

Took a bit to realize...it's too late. She has passed.

At least it was peaceful.

Yes. I spoke with my mom, and we lost our other (18 year old) cat a few months ago...we haven't buried him yet (he was cremated)...

I think we'll do them together, in my parents back yard where they liked to chase birds and squirrels as younger cats. They would have liked that...

It was just so sudden.

I am going to take her to the vet later today and try and figure out why...among other things.

RIP Anastasia. You are missed...

This made my heart melt. It's never easy losing a pet. Hope you are OK.

:geek: I could say I found a kitten yesterday but it was more she found me. I heard meowing outside my porch and couldn't see where it was coming from. I looked down by my garden hose winder and a kitten (not a baby) had tangled itself up in the housing. Figuring it must belong to the neighbors I got it out so it could wander home wherever that was. It ran under my porch. Okay, if I go back in my house maybe then it'll go home. Peeking out the window I didn't see it soooo it must have left. Yeah right.

Ten minutes later I hear this meowing again. The kitten had got stuck in the same spot. :banghead: Not wanting to play this game all day I decided to walk across our field to ask the neighbor about this kitten. (which looked like Sylvester) This thing followed me like a dutiful puppy stopping when I stopped or pouncing on my feet then acting like it didn't do it. :angelic: When we had to cross the drive it looked like a child saying, "hold my hand" so I picked it up. That thing ran up my arm and perched on my shoulder like a parrot curling it's tail around my neck. o_O The neighbor said someone had dumped kittens on the property and they found homes for the three they had. :grumpy:

Great. Now I'm stuck with Patchy the pirate cat. :cat: I decide I'll call the local shelter to find out what to do. :bookworm: I put the kitten on the porch (away from the garden hose) and go to get my phone. Open door....inside runs kitten! "What part of sit, stay, didn't you understand?" :bored: It did a methodical reconnaissance of my kitchen and dining room before settling under the coffee table to fall asleep. I call the shelter. "Hello, yes I found this kitten, what, you're euthanizing any strays because you have 40 cats already? :jawdrop: Did I say kitten? I meant mitten, I found a mitten." Click.

By this time the kitten is in my kitchen staring at my cabinets. I swear it used a jedi mind trick to get food. :cyclops: I gave it some tuna and it ate it's fill. I called my sister who owns a horse farm to adopt it and she agreed. The kitten curled up by my feet as I sat in my rocker to wait for my sister. Someone must have played with these kittens before dumping them, it was tame. My sister fell in love with the kitten :inlove: and decided it would not be a barn cat. Just in time because I felt a migraine coming on and a sudden stomach ache......then I remembered (after being hypnotized by it's cuteness) why I couldn't keep the kitten. After two showers, Pepto and Benadryl, I spent the evening with  raw watery eyes, severe congestion and pin prick itchyness. :in pain: To quote that movie, "That Darn Cat!"
