Made Tortilla Soup for the first time for lunch today. Turned out so good. I would have taken a picture but sadly it isn't pretty, the color alone.....so I served my DD her lunch in a pretty dark bowl.

Up for dinner, chicken wraps. Whole chicken roasted cooked and pulled. Celery, shallots, tomatoes, cucumber, red and yellow sweet peppers sliced and diced. Bacon cooked and chopped. Bought the shredded cheese. Just wish I had time to make Cesar's dough, store bought instead. 40 minutes 'till dinner.

You are so funny! You listed a ton of ingredients, a bunch of food preparation steps for multiple items and then--you actually said that you wished you had time to make Caesar's dough--and had to settle for store bought instead?! :p :D :joyfull: Let me share with you how the other half lives: dinner tonight was parmesan/garlic/herb bag of pita chips and 6 oz. container of cottage cheese. :hilarious:

Sounds like a typical dinner for me. A gourmet cook I am not. :)

So, one of the (many) ridiculous things that my dog does, is occasionally eat a piece of the mail. If an envelope is by the side of the table, he'll sneak over there and take it if we're not around. Then, later on, small bits of shredded envelopes and bills are strewn all over the floor. You should see the carnage.

Tonight, there was one of those unsolicited donation requests, and this one was from The Animal Rescue League. He mauled that one, too, and I scolded him, "You've turned on your own kind!! You should be ashamed of yourself!"

I hear ya. I had a class that ended at 5:45. My parents are at the O's game, so he was at a friend's house until I could come get him. By the time I sat in traffic and got him, and we were leaving, it was 7. Take out time.
I thought ramen was a collage students best friend

Ha! Yeah I have those days every once and a while. And yes, wayyyyy to much chopping and scrubbing of veggies.
As simple as this meal is it takes hours to pull off. I cook dinner generally Monday-Thursday, but I often make DD breakfast depending on her hours. I don't do that when she starts at 545am though, that is why God created Dunkin Donuts and I send them off with Sandwiches for lunch most days and I make a mean Sammie. But Friday through Sunday is my days of rest and at least one of those days I best be taken out to dinner! ;)

I had cottage cheese and half a plain turkey sandwich for lunch. :)

I lived on that stuff. Ramen, McDonald's and this shady Chinese restaurant next to my apartment were pretty much all I ate in college. I'm not sure what was in the Chinese, but $3 got me at least 3 meals, so I didn't question.

I've gotta tell you, some of the best tasting food (all different kinds) comes from little dives, and you never ask what's really in it. Tasty and cheap also worked for me in the past, too!

Dives always have the best burgers and fries. Greasy, yummy goodness!

Oh, now you've gone and done it! There's drool all over the keyboard here, just dreaming of those 5-napkin, cheese, greaseburgers, and some french fries cooked in delicious transfat oil (I hated it when the food police banned transfat oils--you need it for a decent-tasting fry--fries haven't been the same since . . . oh, I sometimes pine for the treats of days gone by . . . :inlove: )

This upcharging trend is really getting on my nerves lately. The fact that they are charging close to a day's admission to the parks for this little cupcake, singalong, etc. event, just screams at me that they're trying to nickel and dime guests as much as they can. No thanks. I'm not a fan of this little event to begin with, but really--if they lowered the charge to $50, at least that wouldn't be as bad. (I'd still never pay it, but that's just me.) I really think that the price should not exceed $30, for those people who really want to attend.

Now, I know that there will be people that will spend this kind of money on their family, but many park guests don't have that "extra" $89, per person. Let's say, for a family of 4, that's $356 !! (Or, if the 2 kiddos are 3 - 9 years old, their price is $59; so for a family of 4 with 2 adults, and 2 younger kids, that's still $296.00!) Yup. Hope they enjoy their cupcakes . . .

Yep, that was my thought when I saw it. It is twisting of the arm with many of these shows now as there are so many reserved sections for either dessert parties or special events for corporations etc. that it is becoming difficult to see the shows that come free with admission.

And you are right, many people will pay so Disney will keep creating them. My DH and I wrestled with the first Halloween party moons ago. They closed the park completely and then reopened at 7pm. It was $15 each. $60 dollars more for our family. We wrestled with the $15 extra hours band they use to sell too, usually way back then my DH and DS would stay and DD and I would go back to the resort, she was little and just wanted to go to sleep.
