I think she meant stop time on this part of the year. Which I wouldn't object to. The weather has been perfect here the last week. 70s and no humidity in the day, 60s at night so I can have the fire pit going at night and sit on the deck.

That's been our weather too - just delicious. heat & humidity are supposed to be returning though.

It's been fairly nice here. It was a bit warm yesterday, especially in the backyard where the sun was beating down. But nothing to really complain about.

So I was on the Disney website, pricing out different vacation options like normal people do , and I saw that the Grand Floridian Villas is available for booking after 10/23. I was trying to decide if we want to skip the meal plan and pay extra for a 3 bedroom villa (as opposed to 2 deluxe hotel rooms) and then my daughter can just eat her meals in the resort or a quick serve cheeseburger since she is ridiculously picky about restaurants these days. Not that we're planning a trip or anything. ;)

Funny - I was just going to post about the GF villas. Apparently my daughter and her husband are going to be staying in one for a weekend in December, courtesy of one of her husband's relatives. Sounds like you should definitely consider it!

I've actually been to Mayberry....
I thought they tore down Mayberry to build an office building.

Another "Andy Griffith Show" location is the former Forty Acres back lot site, located just to the south of Higuera Street near the Culver Studios in Culver City, California. This was site of Main Street Mayberry, as well as Wally's Filling Station, the Taylor home exterior and virtually every other Mayberry building. The Forty Acres back lot had a long history. It was used for several scenes in "Gone With The Wind," and many vintage TV shows including "Star Trek," "Gomer Pyle," "Batman," "Superman," etc., etc. The area is now an office park. Although all of the back lot buildings are gone, the small street that runs through the property sits very near the spot of the Mayberry Main Street. At the intersection of Higuera and Hayden Place, you are very near the site of the original Mayberry Courthouse.
