Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
A random bad storm rolled in and a lightning strike knocked power out to all of WDW for a minute. We were on TTC and our vehicle had just pulled up to the exit with the doors open so they let us walk down the ramp. It was weird that the lights came back on but no sound to anything. (We were stuck in the covered stroller area by the TTC for an hour and StarWarsGirl was waiting it out at POTC.) The rain was so heavy that Tomorrowland flooded up over our ankles. Most of the rides came back up but we called it a night and when we got back to resort, the gift shop was closed and the food court was just coming back online because their power was out.

Wow! In April of 2012, the day I was going home I was stuck in that covered outdoor shop area where the trams let you off the backlot tour at the studios. The streets had about 4 inches of water and nobody was on them. I bought a poncho 'cause of the mist and I was cold. The bus back to the resort lost control and hit the center median, it just hydroplaned. I was the only one on the bus and he was concerned for me. I assured him I was fine. When I got to the Airport in Chicago all 3 big bags were soaked. I was bringing home things my DS didn't want down there anymore so I had a big mess to contend with post vacation.

What I did learn on that trip was the fine print of SouthWest baggage responsibility. None if you use their free baggage check and don't buy insurance.

Yes, there were a bunch of lightning strikes right in that area. We were under PofC and kept hearing the thunder at the same time as the lightning, so we know it was close

My family was on a bus from POR to Epcot when lightening struck the forest along side of the road and there was a huge fire immediately. Bus driver calm and matter of fact radio'd in where a new fire was. Didn't seem to bat an eye.

So, the girlfriend showed up tonight at 10:00, and I was pretty sure she was either dumping Son #2, or being dumped.

I couldn't believe how hard my heart was pounding. I was pretty sure I'd be driving a bawling 18 year old home. I might even have whispered a prayer or two.

It's been two hours, and I hear lots of laughter and conversation coming from the rumpus room.

I doubt they'll be together forever, but: a) you never know, and b) I don't want him to lose the best thing that ever happened to him because he chooses weed over the girl who has worshipped him for 5+ years.

Fixed! :D ;) :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I don't remember, do you loose the $200 if you rebook? I sure hope it all works out. Is M cancer expected to be winnable? I've done this week and it is normally pretty nice weather and crowds. Warm but not Hot. You'll miss the Halloween Party however towards the middle you'll be there for Christmas Part and Osborne, Woot. Where have you picked to stay, is there free dining?
We are booked at Coronado Springs, 10-days with Free Dining.
If it's just the 3 of us, we will still go.

I'm in a rather nasty situation that's... not really similar, but I understand "B" a lot. That's whats happening to me. He's chosen a miserable, dark, bleak, negative life over what we had, what I have, and where I'm going. I'm in the opposite direction. He would rather sit around and smoke pot and cry about how much his life sucks and I'd rather go out and try to fix mine instead. It's not working. It's getting uglier by the day.

Lesson learned. From now on, if I can afford it, I'm living alone. I'm so burned on relationships that I would be quite content to never date anyone again.

It really sucks.

Never owned property at all. Rented only.

I'm feeling very nervous lately, because of all the drama going on in my household, and I would love to buy a house. There's even one that I'm eying lustfully (its the perfect size for me and my dog and cat... and thousands of art supplies) but I'm so afraid of.. everything.

Is this a normal part of being an adult?

I've never had any form of gnocchi, let alone know how to pronounce. How do you cook it? What kind of toppings go with it?

NO-KEY

Potato gnocchi is really good with a light tomato sauce and parmesan cheese.

And garlic bread. :hungry:

Yep, what they said. The sweet potato gnocci is...sweet tasting, and pretty soft compared to normal potato gnocci. That bag... you just open, empty into skillet, heat, and eat. But I've made plain gnocci with parm cheese or red sauce, or a white wine sauce before. You really can't go wrong with any of it.

Yep, been happening to me too. I'll go through a whole page, and then go back a bit later to see posts that I'm sure were not there before. Somethin' with the site, or my "senior moments" are really startin' to kick in... ;) :)

Well at least I have a buddy to go through the looking glass with! Lets pretend it is the sight OK?

I was terrified when we first bought. The house was a stretch for us at the time. We had very little money left over for anything. But slowly we began to earn more and then were able to refinance to a lower interest rate (we bought the house at 8.5%!) and everything settled down a bit. We didn't furnish right away - it was too expensive so we did it slowly - we actually just bought a dining room set last year (our 13th in the house). You work at your own pace. It's a lot of responsibility - maintenance-wise. Anything can go wrong (and sometimes does) and paying to fix it can be scary as well. But it's incredibly rewarding as well - to stand back and think, "This is Mine".
