When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
So, the girlfriend showed up tonight at 10:00, and I was pretty sure she was either dumping Son #2, or being dumped.

I couldn't believe how hard my heart was pounding. I was pretty sure I'd be driving a bawling 18 year old home. I might even have whispered a prayer or two.

It's been two hours, and I hear lots of laughter and conversation coming from the rec. room.

I doubt they'll be together forever, but: a) you never know, and b) I don't want him to lose the best thing that ever happened to him because he chooses weed over the girl who has worshipped him for 5+ years.

SIL was here again tonight.

Thinking November 12-22. Now, I just have to convince Hubby to join us.

Sounds like my 20 year old niece (turning 21 in October) may join us. Woo hoo - Ride buddy.
So, after everything has been booked (11/1- 11/11) and all ADR's made, the niece is bailing, and Hubby and I won't know if our new site/s will be opening in November, for another week and a half.

We may have to do a major re-scramble.

Also, the health of Hubby's partner is still up in the air. Cancer confirmed on Friday, but treatment has not started yet. If M. is not back to work when the new site opens, then I will be Hubby's partner until M. does return; further complicating matters.

No sense worrying yet. Be sad to lose my $200 deposit, though.

If I am remembering correctly that whole general area needed some electrical upgrades or replacements too.
Yup, big thunderstorm last August knocked a lot of equipment out. My understanding was that it badly damaged Astro Orbiter so the planets were not working properly and they were having other issues. That storm also did some bad damage to Buzz. We went on it later that night and it was in such a state. Nothing moved, there was no sound, it never should have reopened. PofC was knocked out as well. @MOXOMUMD remembers that storm vividly too.

Other observations:

In spite of breakdowns, 7DMT is still is excellent condition. Nothing noticeable os breaking, all effects are working

PofC needs a refurb. Missing Davy Jones/Blackbeard, cannons not shooting up water, just broken effects.

Mickey's Philharmagic also needs a refurb. Sound is off, which I noticed back in January, screen when the stage outline is down does not fill outline.

On Soarin' (yesterday) the projection lens was dirty. You don't see the sane speck moving around for film degradation.

HM looks excellent. Not one complaint.

Country Bears looks great. Costumes are all very bright and everything was working.

Splash Mountain is in excellent condition. Only broken effect was the jumping water, and Brer Bear's dialogw saying, "There ain no laughin' place. There just bees" is missing. Considering what a mess it was before that long refurb two years ago, it's nice to see that they fixed everything and everything is staying fixed.

I'm probably going to for backlash for this one, but now that the paint scheme on the inside of People Mover has changed from cooler colors to red amd silver, I think the PeopleMover trains should be redone in red or silver, preferably red. Having a red interior and blue cars just looks weird now.

Speaking of which, they just finished a refurb, and the down moving platform has not been working since Friday. What is up with that?

how bad was the storm? was it hurricane or something?
also, how could it damage that many rides? was there direct lightning hits?

Yesterday it was rude people. Today it was STUPID people, who were also rude. Ah WDW.
Unfortunately.. you will see these kind of people everywhere.

Sources say yes.

The elevators are still there (I could be mistaken, but they appear to be brand new), the frame is still there (and has not been removed at all) and the paint scheme has changed (inside PeopleMover it is red and silver). I would think so. My guess is that it will probably at least receive new cars, possibly a whole new spinner.

Perhaps the elevators will lead to Disney's best kept secret?

Just curious... How many Sageteers are home owners?

Me.

You won't lose the deposit if you call and reschedule the trip for a future date. You can just keep doing this until you decide on dates that work. Might I suggest early February?

I don't remember, do you loose the $200 if you rebook? I sure hope it all works out. Is M cancer expected to be winnable? I've done this week and it is normally pretty nice weather and crowds. Warm but not Hot. You'll miss the Halloween Party however towards the middle you'll be there for Christmas Part and Osborne, Woot. Where have you picked to stay, is there free dining?

That is what I thought. Glad they are fixing. Can't wait to see how all the colors turn out when they are done with everything. It sure needed a face-lift and TLC.

I struggle with these new mega trash cans. I put them in their 'home' sideways being vertically challenged so I can flip them open without it knocking me upside the head. This morning I realized how awful these things are for elderly and the disabled. Taking out the trash will not likely be on the chore list for kids in our neighborhood anymore.

I was just thinking yesterday it's been a year since we got to experience that "fun". :D Wow time has flown by.

A random bad storm rolled in and a lightning strike knocked power out to all of WDW for a minute. We were on TTC and our vehicle had just pulled up to the exit with the doors open so they let us walk down the ramp. It was weird that the lights came back on but no sound to anything. (We were stuck in the covered stroller area by the TTC for an hour and StarWarsGirl was waiting it out at POTC.) The rain was so heavy that Tomorrowland flooded up over our ankles. Most of the rides came back up but we called it a night and when we got back to resort, the gift shop was closed and the food court was just coming back online because their power was out.
