In other news, I had one of the most realistic yet weirdest dreams ever (during the last minutes of my nap)
The dream was....that I Was contracted at DLC and they were interviewing me... inside a tiny one person (smaller than the actual photos) stateroom.

People were coming and leaving constantly.. I already was in "officer" suit. there was a lot of talk explaining my pros and cons.

Then the medic and the "top nurse" (both officers) came to review me, until I was told by the nurse that I was declared "stowaway". because I was not listed in the manifest.

I told them that I had applied, accepted..etc..etc.
.
Then It turns out the supposed HR "officer" was a fake and jumped from the deck and the ship to the sea moments earlier.

Gave them the papers, turned out there was really a position free.. then the captain came and gave me a welcome and they hired me.

then I woke up (o_O))

And I'm like all..

Cool dream! :)

And, that image still cracks me the heck up...!!! :joyfull:

That was very thoughtful of you to share these links! Thank you. :)

Only one of the stores I'm familiar with already: PetEdge, because they used to have an outlet not too far away from me; but a few years ago, they moved to a different city. Their outlet used to be great, and I miss it. I'd buy lots of toys really cheap at 1-2 bucks for my dog's Christmas stocking. Of course, the colors and patterns were somewhat hideous that ended up in the outlet, but I figured the dog didn't know the difference! Besides, he's such a brute that he'd often completely tear apart a new chew toy in less than 24 hours anyway.

The other two store links also look very good, and I'll keep them in mind. I like the brand of pet shampoo that you recommended as well.

If you subscribe to PetEdge they will mail you their catalogs and there are always clearances in there.

It is the Orange Fresh N Clean that lasts. Love it.

Well there was some interesting news at work tonight... you remember how I said our manager left? Well, our assistant manager might leave soon, too. He has a final interview tomorrow for a new job, and he says he pretty much has it, and it's really kind of a meet and greet for him. He says he could put his 2 weeks notice in anytime really.

If we don't get a manager hired before he leaves (heck, even if we do), it's going to be a complete train wreck. The people who would have to step up and fill in for the time being are not qualified whatsoever to be managers.

Also I learned today that our sales compared to this day last year are down 30%. All of us say we wouldn't be surprised if the store closed soon, but employees have been saying that for years now.

You said you were working for K-Mart right? Their brand popularity has been on a downward trend for a while now, so it is probably not something your store will have much control over. Walmart and Target are taking all of the other big box stores' business.

Yep. The thing that's keeping our store alive is repeat customers, which is why they push the membership program so much. Plus, everybody hates working there. It seems like the longer you work there, the more you hate it. For me, I don't really hate it, but people who have been there for 6+ months can't stand it.

I think the only thing that keeps the one near me in business is out of towners that just pick the closest thing on their GPS. The store is just dirty and doesn't have a very good selection so I can't see it being popular for repeat business.

Our selection has gone downhill because we aren't ranked high in certain categories as a store. If the store gets downgraded, you have to take down shelves (which leaves a gross yellow stain on the floor) and reduce products. We actually have a good selection for clothing, shoes, and home, but our grocery and electronic departments are nothing compared to Walmart. And people buy groceries more often than clothes, etc. Plus, a lot of people don't think of going to a big box store for clothes.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

K-Mart? How did I miss this?

I kept thinking @PUSH was just being cagey and not saying exactly for which chain store he was working.

We haven't had K-Marts up here since 1998. A whole bunch of them became Zellers; most of which have since become Targets.
And, as you know, Target Canada lost more than a billion dollars in its first year.

K-Mart - that's the home of the blue light special, right?
