That's a dangerous game you play.
I know. :D I've gotten other people with it (and will try intentionally to do it if I look at the caller ID and decide to) but this is the first time I've gotten my father. Yesterday my uncle called (and I wasn't trying) and he thought it was my mom and was a little scared when he found out it wasn't. One of my dad's friends, when he calls, says, "Hey, how are you? How is everyone?" and just some generic questions until he can determine who it is.

One of the benefits of not having a home phone: you don't have to answer the phone for other people.

You're dad is going to tell you something TMI someday when you do this and you will have no one to blame but yourself.

The only reason I have a home phone is because it was the only way to get a certain price for my cable/internet bundle. I set the ring to silent, never gave the number to anyone, and registered it on the Do Not Call List. The voice mail inbox is still full of robocalls every time I check it.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
My dad called home before coming home from work. I answered the phone like my mom just to see if I could get him.

It worked. He started a conversation before I informed him that I was his daughter not his wife.
Yeah, better be careful there. Sometimes husbands say things to their wives they would never say to their daughters.
And once you hear something, you can't un-hear it.

I always let Hubby know when the kids are in the car, lest he say something inappropriate over the Bluetooth.

I also warn my kids not to read my messages or check my camera roll.

I just love to mess with their heads!

According to Buzzfeed, I am not a teen...

Some of these things I'm just like, "What?"

Are You A Teen?
You got 3 out of 50 teen credits!
  1. Not a teen! You are definitely not a teen. (And if you somehow are a teen, you’re not very teen-like for being a teen, which is probably a good thing.)

The 3 points I got were all tied to my iPhone/iPad.

That was us until we decided to ditch the home line and upgrade our cell phones. Great decision.
My dad's phone and my phone cost less than $25 a month. My mom's cost about $30 per month. Landline is bundled with cable and internet, so it's around $25 per month. That's less than we would pay for all of us to get cell phones. My dad hates cell phones and only has one because my mom and I insist. There's no way he's paying for a contract plan. I agree with him that cell phones are perhaps the biggest rip off ever.

I hate my phone and do not want to be tied to it for all phone calls. It barely makes phone calls. It also remains it my room and sometimes I have to call it because I haven't looked at it in days. So I prefer a landline, which I can answer anywhere in the house.
