Oh No! I am so sorry to hear that.

My Dad did that after they changed his meds after both his hip replacement and heart surgery. He is my own father so I can say this (just not to his face) He was a real fruit loop until they got his meds straightened out.

You likely remember me saying my MIL is going to assisted living in 2 weeks after her having an alert out for her in 3 states a few weeks back. Last week we found out that her midnight run up to Wisconsin could have likely been avoided. Between the Doc and the Pharmacy, each blaming each other they halfed her meds. Explains quite a bit of her behavior that day.

I sure hope they figure out what is up with your Grandma, waiting is hard for everyone, stressful.

One thing my aunt has wondered is if it's the meds she's taking from when she was in the hospital a week or so ago. It's just pain meds, and she's only taking one a day, but they told her to stop taking them to see if that's the problem. Hopefully it is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not. My grandma's mom (my great grandma) was like this, too. And my grandma's sister (my great aunt) was similar, although I don't remember her ever having the strong hallucinations. She was more just confused and couldn't remember who people were.

There are some pain meds that can give a pretty good wonky feeling, so it could be possible.

There's also another component to the meds. issue, and that concerns the actual dosage levels for the elderly. Due to their slower metabolism, dosing can, at times, be a bit of a crap shoot. Physicians tend to dose at a somewhat lower level for these patients, and sometimes they can't really predict ahead of time, how a particular patient will respond. Add to that, the elderly often are taking more than one medication for various ailments.

So now that she's back in familiar surroundings, and probably eating better and moving around, her condition might get a bit better. (I saw a similar type of situation with a relative.)

Where do you wanta ship her, CostaRica, Oakland, Chicagoland, Champaign-Urbana?

2nd person I know personally that moved to Austin in the last week or so. DD lost her best maintenance dude to Austin.

Yes. Any of those or anywhere other than Austin will do.

;)

Seriously though, it's just gettin' crazy down this way. supposedly, on average, 70 people move here every day.

I remember ya' mentionin' about the maintenance guy before. If I remember correctly, he was already from Texas, so I wonder if he counts only if he was originally from somewhere else in Texas...?! o_O ;) :)
