One thing my aunt has wondered is if it's the meds she's taking from when she was in the hospital a week or so ago. It's just pain meds, and she's only taking one a day, but they told her to stop taking them to see if that's the problem. Hopefully it is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not. My grandma's mom (my great grandma) was like this, too. And my grandma's sister (my great aunt) was similar, although I don't remember her ever having the strong hallucinations. She was more just confused and couldn't remember who people were.Oh No! I am so sorry to hear that.
My Dad did that after they changed his meds after both his hip replacement and heart surgery. He is my own father so I can say this (just not to his face) He was a real fruit loop until they got his meds straightened out.
You likely remember me saying my MIL is going to assisted living in 2 weeks after her having an alert out for her in 3 states a few weeks back. Last week we found out that her midnight run up to Wisconsin could have likely been avoided. Between the Doc and the Pharmacy, each blaming each other they halfed her meds. Explains quite a bit of her behavior that day.
I sure hope they figure out what is up with your Grandma, waiting is hard for everyone, stressful.
