We have a state park where a guy got friendly with me once. It didn't bother me but I didn't take him up on his offer.

Happened to me once too, way back in the day, at a roadside park one night on the way back from my (then) girlfriends dorm in a town about 45 mins. south of here.
I told him it was not my thing and also did not take him up on his offer, but, I thanked him for caring...!

So, Uncle Paul made it through the night.
It was a restless, uncomfortable night for him, sadly.

They removed his IV yesterday, so he is not receiving fluids, nor is his pneumonia being treated.

The top of the bed is upright to help him breathe, and he is receiving oxygen through nasal prongs. Other than morphine and Ativan to keep him pain free and panic free, no other medication is being administered.

I am grateful for the interaction and good-byes we exchanged yesterday; however I will not be going back up. My auntie, the missionary, will continue to keep me posted. It will probably not be long.

Once someone gets to this point, my prayer is always that God will keep the patient pain-free, and free from any fear; and that peace settles upon all the family as well.
I know where Uncle Paul is going. And so does he.
Unfortunately, as my dad said in his last hours, "this dying thing isn't as easy as it looks".
