Just finished Survivor: Thailand! And as always, my thoughts for @JenniferS...

Agreed with the winner, but surprised Clay got 4 votes. It's weird how back then they played more with their hearts and whether they played ethically. I don't necessarily like Brian himself, but he played the best game out of any of them. Overall it was a pretty decent season. Cagayan still holds itself as my favorite season that I've seen, though!

Season 6 was during tax season and before I got my DVR so I didn't see every episode and wasn't that into it. Season 7 I thoroughly enjoyed. It was well cast with some cool twists.

So yesterday I went to Manhattan to walk around and shop with my cousin who is up visiting from Tampa. We were walking in Columbus Circle and there sa a big commotion. I saw a food truck, and it looked like someone in a chef coat was being interviewed on camera and there were people talking photo and video with their phones. I didn't recognize the chef and just kind of walked past to cross the street. As we were waiting I heard someone yelling, "back away, let him walk" and I turned around and about 3 feet away from me, flanked by cops and bodyguard looking types, was Derek Jeter. No pics - my phone was in my bag and he was gone in a flash.

  • July 22: National Penuche Fudge Day

To save everyone the google:

Penuche (Italian: panucci) is a fudge-like candy made from brown sugar, butter, and milk,[1] using no flavorings except for vanilla. Penuche often has a tannish color, and is lighter than regular fudge.[2] It is formed by the caramelization of brown sugar; thus, its flavor is said to be reminiscent of caramel. Nuts, especially pecans, are often added to penuche for texture, especially in the making of penuche candies.[1] It is primarily a regional food, found in New England and some places in the Southern United States, though in the latter it goes by different names, usually "brown sugar fudge candy".

UGH - I am really dumb sometimes.

I have individual milk drink boxes in the fridge at work so I don't always need to remember milk for my coffee and cereal. I opened one on Friday, and only had coffee, so it was pretty much full. I tried to smell it through the straw but couldn't smell anything. So I got the brilliant idea to gently squeeze the carton to get a whiff of the milk. Well, that's not what happened. I actually ended up shooting milk up my nose. It smelled fine.

So... June 16th is National Fudge Day. July 22nd is National Penuche Fudge Day. November 20th is National Peanut Butter Fudge Day. While I like peanut butter fudge, I can't help but wonder why there is no National Chocolate Fudge Day???!!!! o_O How come penuche and peanut butter fudges get their own days??? I think it is a way of pacifying the chocolate-haters! Just sayin'.... :arghh:
