I suspect I have broken the big toe on my left foot.
Some time yesterday, but not sure how or when.

When we were leaving for our walk yesterday, I was aware that it was hurting, but again, couldn't recall any specific injury.

I've broken enough toes over the years to know that the hospital doesn't do anything for them anymore. Heck, the last time I broke one, they didn't even X-ray it. "What if it's broken?" , I asked. "Oh it's probably broken, we just don't do anything for broken toes." They don't even recommend 'buddy-taping ' them together, as in the past.

On the plus side, I'm not working, so it's not like I have to stand for 8+ hours each day.

By any chance were you gardening or doing some type of work where you were resting all your weight on your
balls of your feet/toes. 5 years ago in the spring while I was planting (Tomatoes) I wound up with a stress fracture.
The dear young Doc explained to me as we are into our middle age and less estrogen in our system we are more prone to stress fractures. Thanks Doc. I was hard pressed to think of why I was in such pain and when he saw it was a stress fracture and where it was at he asked what I had done that day it started hurting. Now I sit on a Rubbermaid stool when I'm planting. Sucidoodles to be getting older.

Nothing I have ever experienced hurts as much as a toe injury.

I've broken some body parts and it hurts.

Being a guy I can believe that not having to give birth to your spawn. Followed up with the spawn breaking your tailbone in the last moments of child birth. I'd take the broken toe over either of the other two I've experienced.
