This reminded me of a not-so-funny story that happened earlier today at work. In the break room I bought a 50 cent can of soda from the soda machine, and it was advertised as Mug root beer. What came out was some generic, off-brand stuff that only our store sells. Talk about a disappointment.

Just as a disclaimer, I do not believe Mug is the best root beer, but it's certainly a step up from what I had today. My favorite root beer is Barq's.

Wow! Slightly against the law. So many stupid people in the world. Sam's Club puts all generic soda in their machines here but they are at least intelligent enough to display the generic soda.

A lot of people like A&W the best, but to me nothing can top Barq's. It's my favorite soda.

Obviously, Mr. Beer & Water Guy here doesn't drink muck soda, but, I do love me some root beer (probably, 'cause even though it isn't "real" beer, the word "beer" is still involved   ;)).
Anyway, way back in the day when we lived in NoCal, A&W drive-ins were all over the place and we LOVED their root beer. But, Barq's, to me anyway, has the edge. :)

I tried getting a Pepsi in it one day, but when I pressed the button nothing came out, so I had to settle for Mountain Dew. Which was fine by me.

We had two drive-in A&Ws within 30 minutes from here. One closed after last summer, the other one is both drive-in and restaurant style. I love me some A&W food. :hungry:

I was going to say that maybe it's a Canadian concoction, but according to the attached article, it's considered the "longest continuously made soft drink in the United States".

In Illinois Hires root beer is sold in most large grocery stores. Also in Meier and Target. I like it in Root Beer Floats cause it is a little sweeter. But as a soft drink the winner is Barq root beer and even better from a soda fountain than a can or bottle.

I love the soda fountain Barq's. It's my main choice of drink at the Riverside food court.

My condolences.

Okay, another Canada Dry product - how about Wink?

Often served with gin, as in "I'll have gin and Wink, please".

Very thirst-quenching.
Without the gin.

Maybe even with gin. What would I know?

Hot dog: mustard & sauerkraut
Hamburger: lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup & possibly mayo. No mustard. Ever.

First part, hot dog, awesome. Loves me some mustard and kraut! :)
Must be a throwback to those old A&W days, but, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE me some old fashioned mustard burger.
Different from a hot dog, I actually like a burger with all 3 (mustard, mayo, and ketchup) on it. But, I prefer mustard, only.
Also, I prefer all my veggies to be sliced and not diced. Too many places serve their burgers with diced onions and all they do is drop out instead of stayin' in the game. :bored: ;) :)
