We had plans for this afternoon that will now be put off 'til later 'cause DWifey was unexpectedly called into work for a few hours on her day off. Incompetent clowns. She doesn't even hafta' work there anymore, but, she hates giving things up (as evidenced by the fact that she's held on to my sorry a** all these years ;)) 'cause she thinks it's some kinda' sign of failure on her part, which it isn't, of course. They keep movin' her from store to store to whip them into shape, and as soon as she does they zip her along to the next disaster store to clean it up. Lather, rinse, repeat...

I haven't slept on my tummy in years. I can sleep on my back, but, that's when I snore. As a result, I always sleep on one of my sides (usually switching several times during the night) 'cause I don't snore sleeping that way. Also, towards the morning, I usually roll over on my back and prop myself up against the headboard and fall back to sleep until the alarm goes off. As long as I'm not flat on my back, I don't snore.
This, of course, is all if I get an ideal nights sleep, and don't wake up between 3-4a and can't go back to sleep, like I all too often do.

He is at work long hours and he is dealing with health issues with his Mom 90ish, add in his two brothers married to two sisters that are treating his Mom like she is an infant and The Mom is ed and you've got sleep deprived mega stress. The decibel level of snoring was ridiculous, he was tossing and turning then to add to the stress level of little sleep he slept through his alarm this morning and I woke him up around 445 this morning when I finally heard it 45 minutes later. If he got 4 hours he is lucky. I just could pound on him for snoring.

Need to work or not I'm betting she does enjoy the accomplishment of career well done. I bet she is proud of how far she has come in relatively short order. Much better gig than the crazed lady she worked for before. Say a howdy to DWifey for me.

I got distracted for a bit by WDW1974's latest thread.
Always juicy...

I read the first day of the new thread, must go back at some point and read his posts at least. Not likely today, I am on a heat break. I'm hoping the shade comes soon to my back veggie garden cause 89 is too hot to be planting for both me and the tiny veggies. I had a goal of everything being wrapped in tightly by the end of May. I am so close but thinking I'm going to need a few more day, unfortunately we have a stretch of 90's coming. Warm to be playing in the dirt.

I would love a pinball machine. My bff's dad has one that a client wanted to get rid of so he gave it to him. They also have an air hockey table.

I recently looked into getting a pinball machine. Then I saw the prices and compared them to an air hockey table or Foosball table. Now I know why we have an air hockey and Foosball table and not a pinball machine:eek:. Skee ball machines are just as bad.

When I win the lottery my new home will have an arcade room.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
We do that for a lot of clients, too. Separate BRs, based on sleep habits, work schedules, etc.
Sometimes when hubby's snoring is outrageous, he'll get up and sleep on the couch.

Believe it or not, that makes me feel even worse.
6' 8" men were not meant to sleep on regular sized couches.

Happily, it doesn't happen too often. The trick for me is to wake him up just enough to make him roll over, without waking him up so much that he feels compelled to sleep on the couch.

Yep, none of that up there helps with tryin' to get any kind of good sleep on both your parts.
Prayers that things somehow calm down soon.

Funny thing is, I don't snore nearly as bad as I used to, and DWifey is plenty happy about that.
And yes, there were plenty of times she wanted to pound me, too.

Do they call that a Freudian Slip. I meant to say I just couldn't pound him, though I would have loved too as the hours ticked bye

Sorry, I need to be more clear, but, she doesn't want me to make a big deal out of things, so I don't always pass all info on, sometimes.
She is downright ED, actually. She hadn't had a day off in 2.5 weeks, and then finally she was able to get Thurs., Fri., Sat. (today - and of course she's there right now), and Sun. off. She even had to work on Easter Sunday, Mothers Day, and last weekend when my buddy from Cali. came into town. We have no weekends to just relax and all be together as a family, and she's just not happy with it anymore. They are using and abusing her and all the other managers, even more than they already used to, since the company changed hands and don't pay them squat. It's retail...it all sucks.
There is also some class action legal happenings going on about unpaid hours worked that's just maddening as hell. Pretty much all I'll say, for now.
I kinda' doubt it, but, since she mentioned it on her way out the door, I really wouldn't be surprised if she came home announcing that she told them to take their job and shove it.
If nothin' else, I know she we'll begin, post haste, searching for other more gainful employment after today.
After all, the best time to look for a job is while you already have one.

Yep. Today the smoking thread was politely closed by The Mom, Amen.
smoking thread?
there was a smoking thread that got also problems with drama?

Canadian Netflix is awful, apparently.
Most people I know are going with the Android box.

Hubby is all caught up with Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad. Watching 90210, of course. And Emergency! Apparently he used to have a thing for Nurse Dixie McCall.
Cant be worse than the Mexican Netflix, almost all the content is SD (standard resolution) and not HD.. there are rarely full HD content...and almost nothing as subtitles (mostly awfully translated and dubbed)
It is cheap but lacks of REAL new content.
they only added latin american content that was available for years in public TV.

Yes, that hours ticking by thing will do it every time.
My DWifey usually didn't have any problems letting me know I was keeping her up. A lot of times, I would just go sleep on the couch, or, if she just didn't feel like nudging me and waking me up at that particular moment, she would end up leaving our bed herself.
Thankfully, we don't have to do that dance anymore. :)
She actually does a little bit of snoring herself, these days, but, swears up one side and down the other that she doesn't. ;)

pure nostalgia, I havent seen these in a long time..

These are great stress relievers.

When my kids were younger and we'd hit up the arcades on our Disney Park day breaks, they'd find me at the skee ball machines.

or if someone was willing, I loved air hockey

neither these!

I think after Pizza fiesta was bought by Chuck E'Cheeses (and closed most of the animatronics-arcades). These kind of machines are getting extinct.
Only some specialized arcades still have these (along the dancing machines) near cinema theatre companies.

You all know I worked for Chuck E Cheese right?

For 14 years.

My love for Skeeball expired a long time ago. :p

But, my kiddo loves it when we go, because I always win a lot of tickets.
14 years? seriously? o_O

Glad he didn't leave (he's mentioned that a few times in the past). The whole point of the forums is so everyone can express their opinions, in a respectful manner, without any fear of reprisal. Others may certainly disagree with things said, but really should approach each other with basic courtesy.
Yeah, sadly some seem to have the necessity to be right at all costs and even literally prosecute others who dont conform to their standards.
It gets annoying sometimes.
