While we're discussing funny regional accents, don't forget the Boston accent. My accent isn't heavy, but I do sometimes forget to pronounce the letter, r, if it's preceded by a vowel or two. O.k. Listen up, dear Sagateers: class in session. Let's say you're pronouncing the word, charge. Ignore the r (remember, preceded by one or more vowels), and say, "chaaj" — see, it's easy!
Dropping "R" is pretty popular. In Vermont we drink Watta.

I don't think I could say Dear Girlfriend, Dear Mother, etc. without it sounding passive aggressive anyway.

Kinda' Like "Bless their heart" and "I'm just sayin'"...
Apparently, as long as you follow up a statement up with either of those two, it makes it all better...
i.e. "They're ugly and their momma dresses them funny, bless their heart!" and "Your ugly and your momma dresses you funny...just sayin'".
As if "Bless their heart" makes you seem any less high and mighty, and "I'm just sayin'" dosen't make me wanna' smash your face in with one punch any less... :D ;) :)

But, I'm just sayin... :cautious:

Add two more times to the amount of times our internet has gone down today. It went down a bit ago, then came back for a couple minutes, then went down again.

My mom's family is from Virginia. My dad's family is from Appalachia. I have a very mild accent unless I start talking too fast. I learned to slow down because I hate to repeat myself. I actually had to take speech in my early elementary years to learn to slow down when talking.

I have an aunt named Virginia because the hospital made a mistake. She was supposed to be Regina. Just as well.

At my college we had a student named Clepohas. It sounds Native American but wasn't. He was supposed to be Cleophus.

My father met someone once named Latrina. Her parents deliberately named her that, not knowing any better.

Here's one for ya'...
