Situation was so screwed up. Both of their parents are mentally ill and drug addicts. They are both in jail for felony charges after they broke into my grandmother's house and stole from her. The girls have been with my grandmother five days out of the week for the past six months, and they were out with her when their parents broke into the house, so their parents, had they not been out, would have broken in when they were inside.Sometimes it's for the better. Let's hope they understand that in the long run.![]()
Their mom will be away for at least a year; their dad will be away for 2-5 years. Once when my grandmother didn't have the girls, they were left with a known drug dealer. My aunt had them a few weeks ago and when she had to take them home, they begged her not to. Their dad is fine with his mom taking custody, because their mom has relatives in West Virginia who they are currently staying with, and they are nuts as well. Their mom will probably blow a casket, but whatever.
They'll be much better off with my aunt and uncle in SC. My other two cousins and their spouses have moved down there, so my cousin's wife will take care of them three days out of the week, my aunt will be home with them one day a week, and my other cousin will take them the last day. She's also said if something happens and my aunt can no longer care for them, she would take them. So they'll be well taken care of, they've got one cousin who's a year older than the older girl and there's another one coming in December. My aunt says both of them will be in therapy as soon as they get on her insurance plan. The older one was acting out when she was staying with my grandmother, and the younger one started wetting the bed, so they both are showing the stress of all this.
