I've camped 100's of times in my life and loved it all! Have never been on a cruise of any kind, but, a DCL cruise comes HIGHLY recommended by oldest DD and her new hubby. Foreign travel also on our list. And, if I'm middle aged at 51, then, I should have 'til I'm 102 to do all of that...!!!!! :joyfull: ;) :)
So you really want to wait until you need a medical helicopter ? D:

I don't even allow myself to get dragged into it. I'd rather stay home. I also would only be able to go in the summer because that's when my allergies are minimal, and I'm not sleeping outside, at least in MD, where it's 85 degrees and humid at night in the summer. My friends tried to drag me into it. I was like,
grumpy_no.png

I don't even get what's so fun about it.

I swear I imagined you like that pic on the internet.. where a father is pulling his kid from the leg, trying to get him away.. and the kid is holding his desktop pc so hard (still plugged) XD

I'm not staying long - going to go to bed. Another long night at the hospital. Good news is his bloodwork is headed in the right direction and if it still improves in the morning he should be ready to come home tomorrow. :)

Thats good to hear!
speedy recovery hopefully!

I've never seen a bear in real life outside of a zoo. We don't have them around here - they're up in northern Wisconsin more. Around here we have your common deer, rabbits, squirrels, skunks, coyotes, etc. A few years back we had a wild cougar (I don't think it was that, but I can't remember what type of wild cat it was) or something roaming around, my English teacher said she saw it while riding her bike. Not sure whatever happened to that.
Maybe a lynx? or Bobcat?

wow, that dog really hurt the poor kid and that cat really was furious to make the dog let it go and even the cat chased the dog away twice!

In other news, I swear I'm always too late for these surveys.. like the paradise thing

What Sort Of Paradise Should You Run Away To?
  1. You got: Rainforest Paradise
    4d43e028acfae52f4853375247d8f1af-0.jpg

You’re all about adventure. The most important thing to you is being able to leave everything behind and find something completely different to do. Generally, you’re a free spirit and a daring person, and you’d be happiest wandering through the rainforest with the animals. So what are you waiting for?

Good morning! Mom arrived here safely last night after spending the last 2 days on the road with my brother and his wife. 2 minutes after they left she had no recollection of the trip or even being anywhere but here. She didn't get to sleep 'til almost 1 this morning, but at 5:30 she was looking to get up. We told her it wasn't time for her to get up yet but she's insisting that she has to get up and go to work this morning. It's going to be a long summer...

I don't even use an air mattress. I like to be "one with nature".

Clearly the Nywdwfan/donaldtoo persona is at odds with our other personalities Sageteers on this one.

We've camped a lot, and I even lived in my little tent with my cat for the summer when I first moved to Flagstaff. We tent camped with the kids when they were little and eventually graduated to air mattresses in the tent and after one exceptionally rainy week in Assoteague, we finally bought a pop-up tent trailer. It now has become our official "guest house" in the summer.

Off from work today (yea!), and early tomorrow morning I'm on a plane to WDW! Never planned a trip so close to departure before, but when my wonderful MIL insisted on giving me the money as a gift to go, last week, I couldn't resist! I booked everything just three mornings ago, for this Friday's departure. (Back home on Tues. night.)

The funny thing is that since I hadn't originally planned to go this year, I wasn't paying too much attention to the mechanics of the new ticket media/FP+, other than to cringe at the price tag Disney spent on this falderol. So this morning, I've been reading up on the particulars, and since I'll be staying at the Swan, I'll buy my park ticket there. I think I can just use the plastic card, alone, and don't need to purchase $12.95 for the band (since I'm not a Disney hotel guest, that is additional price for the card to be linked over to a band).

I could care less about the band; I believe the cards, alone, work in the kiosks. Plus, without any real lead time to schedule FP for rides, there probably won't be much to choose from anyway, on the days I go. I'll just try the new kiosks for grins and giggles, but I don't expect to be impressed with last-minute selections. Anyway, I like to just roam around the parks, and I've often been lucky to just "hit it" when ride waits randomly drop in the stand-by lines. There's no rhyme or reason to any of that; it just happens, sometimes. :)

That's awesome that she gave you a trip. I hear it's been pretty hot down there already. Can't wait to see pictures of you riding the Mine Train!

My most memorable camping experience is from the Smoky Mountains when I was a kid, and being high among other side effects of medication I was on for sinus problems. My mother eventually brought me to the hospital in Sevierville, not far from Pigeon Forge. I think the song Rocky Mountain High came out soon afterward.

Last I heard, they're still only allowing the 7 dwarfs to ride it. My goal is to ride anything at all in the new Fantasyland area. Last year, the place was so mobbed. Because I wasn't familiar with the new attractions, I saw a line that had a 30-min. posting. Got in that and found out it wasn't a ride at all; it was a M&G for Ariel! Ha! Left shortly after that due to crowds. Maybe I'll get to go on the Little Mermaid ride this time. We'll see; perhaps if I get there at park opening time one morning, it might happen!
