I've never seen an Orange Julius that wasn't part of a DQ so I checked it anyway. Cinnabon I have sadly eaten from a Cinnabon :depressed:
There used to be an Orange Julius in West Towne Mall in Madison. I don't know if it's still there or not.

I know there were Orange Julius' in Connecticut that were not part of Dairy Queen. The first one I ever saw was in a mall I believe in Hartford in the food court years ago. Slurp.

We used to have them in mall kiosks. Sadly, no more.
Now you can only get it at DQ.

If I'm going to DQ though, it's for ice cream, not whipped orange juice.

Better than washing them by hand like some peasant.
I am a peasant

That's for sure. I do not remember ever living without a dishwasher, I was too young. Also on that list that I grew up with was a color TV, central A/C, a microwave (then called a radar range.)

Oddly my first house had a portable dishwasher and so did this house. What was up with that? We unloaded the first house pretty quickly but I remedied the Dishwasher thing in this home posthaste, it was a Kitchenaid and I paid $450. It lasted 25 years.

This little booger was just shy of a thousand dollars. :arghh: Jaw dropped. For the grand I got free delivery. Whoop!

Yea, I first remember Orange Julius bein' it's own thing In every mall I can remember. First time I ever saw it bein' associated with DQ was when a very small location opened up a few years back in the same local mall where The Disney Store I used to be a CM at is. :)

And today I drove an hour to buy a dishwasher.

Those little boogers are 'spensive.
We have an 18" wide built-in dishwasher - that's all that fit into any existing cupboard in our current kitchen.

FYI - I paid twice as much for a mediocre 18" DW vs. a higher quality full sized one. There's not a lot of selection in the 18" range.

Our closest DQ closes from late October until March. I was at the gas station across the street and saw the open sign last month and was texting my DD so fast. I love me some DQ. There was one a few blocks down from my folks, a staple in my life growing up, this one:

When we lived in Chicago until I was 6 years old, there was a Taste Freeze at the end of my block. You had to order from the window outside, only employees inside the building.

likely those kids behind uilding bare up to no good.

Still there but I wouldn't risk going back there. Dicey when we left. My Gran died when I was 17 years old and haven't been back there since. (she lived in the house next to ours when I was small)

Holy carp! :jawdrop:
We last replaced a DW in this home about 8 years ago for a little less than $300.
If I'm gonna' spend a grand on one, that sucker better do more than just make the dishes hot. It damn well better actually wash 'em, towel 'em off, put 'em away and set the friggin' table for the next meal.

;) :)

We never had Orange Julius' in our area. We always had Dairy Queens. It is only the last few years that they have been added onto the menus of existing Dairy Queens.

Well, I'm off to sleep. I was staying up to watch the finish to the Brewers/Cardinals game, and it lasted forever. But the Brew Crew came from a 3-0 deficit to win 5-3 in the 14th (I think it was 14th, can't remember, it was like 2 whole minutes ago) inning.

Good night!

Our DQ opens and closes like clockwork.
Closes the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend (early October) and opens the Friday before Valentine's Day.
