thank you guys!

So I was out...and couldn't quite decide on what to do. Until I saw this while going over a bridge:

It ended at my favorite place besides disney, the flower gardens. So I went in! (I love having a membership there!)

The spring theme is "rhythm and bulbs" and every room has different types of music playing. Obviously my favorite was the hippy room, with grateful dead and jimi Hendrix playing...I'm pretty sure I know what I was in a previous life.

But then...then THIS happened:

IT WAS MEANT TO BE! I was supposed to be here tonight. This room had Kermit singing "rainbow connection" and honest to god if I had all of your phone numbers I would have been calling and blubbering on.

This bad boy is hanging in the main atrium. It's all glass. Easily 2,000 pounds of it.

And thus concludes our tour this evening. You guys and gals are the best.

ITS A SIGN!
you need to purchase more skittles!

This is for @StarWarsGirl95

She'll understand...

Nice convo over there! I was impressed!

FEEL THE DARK SIDE! (and sleep well)

Thanks. Means a lot coming from you. Need to get some homework done before going to sleep, plus I need to take more painkillers; I got a cortisone injection in my ankle today and it's not feeling too good right now.

I love West Side Story! I have it on DVD, will have to watch it again once the semester ends.

Anyway, thanks again guys!
Now it's time for me to get my ol' beeeeehind to bed (like I'm gonna' sleep  ;)) cause I gotta' be up and at 'em first thing to help with gettin' the big show on the road!

You handled yourself well over there, and thanks for continuing. I knew you had a valid and apt stance on the issue, and was curious to see your response.

I still think you have much to offer over there, but we'll see, it's flatlined right now.

That thread will either die, or go into a rebuilding stage...hard to explain, so I won't.

Advice, if you don't mind (you know I'm all old man, so I can't help it), stay away from mentioning your father when supporting your arguments.

Your points either stand on their own, or they don't. The key to rhetoric (in the proper sense, not the common bull sense) is identifying what the ignorance is in your opposition, then beating them over the head with it.

The easiest is capitalizing on their own ignorance of the topic at hand, if you will. This means they are less sure of their own positions, and therefore your points will carry more weight.

Stay with them, over there on that thread, and don't use your father to justify your thoughts (you largely didn't).

While your thoughts and feelings are valid, they also don't mean much. The only time I brought up a personal experience (regarding lawyers and my kid) was calculated. Now, if someone attacks my position on lawyers, I can fall back on the fact I used one to gain custody of my child (which is completely true).

They refuse to see my point, so I pre-counter their point with my own. I may not use that knight is reserve, but I may have to. You never know exactly where it's going to go.

It is Chess, not checkers.

Anyhow, I was quite impressed.

Advice (you know old man was coming)...Stand on the merits of your arguments, not your inside knowledge of how things work. If you know the latter well, you don't need it and people won't understand it.

Just advice, from an old man who used to dress you down in this very thread. I'm actually quite pleased that you have come so far.

This sounds condescending now that I read back through it, don't take it as that, just remember when I used to chew you out, and if you want, go back and read through those episodes (probably shouldn't)...

But, to quote a cigarette commercial slogan you won't remember (Virginia Slims)...you've come a long way baby!

Now, go get some sleep. Leave the interwebs for us unsuccessful nighttime folks who have high school at best educations.

We'll be sure it thrives on!

Huzzah!

Wow, that was random. Okay! Reading a chapter from a textbook and going to bed this time (even though I just posted something else, which was more of an explanation than an argument).

You handled yourself well over there, and thanks for continuing. I knew you had a valid and apt stance on the issue, and was curious to see your response.
Thanks, and as I said, compliments mean a lot coming from you.

I'm good at neither:p

Advice (you know old man **** was coming)
You know I don't mind advice when it's nicely given. In fact I appreciate it, especially since even though I like to argue, I'm not wonderful at it, so whenever I get advice about arguing a point, I take it.

You've grown a lot, young catowin.

Soon, very soon we can plan our takeover of the Saget thread together. The talking trash can and Meg will never know.

The only concern I have is Darth Potato...

(oh wait, did I say that publicly?)
