By "culture" do you also mean, for example, local industries such as the Alsace region for wine, and the French Riviera for perfume? Or, do you want the students to focus more on local cuisine and customs, like a regional form of dance? In other words, the geography part is clear, but "culture" may be a bit broad-based in its interpretation. Anyway, that was just my initial reaction to your question.
If the 4th graders could write a report for me on French wine, it could really help me seem smart when my gf drags me to wine tastings.

PUSH, some French people like cooking, gardening, dance, and sports, to name just a few local pastimes. Those are a few ideas that might be weaved into your presentation. Your presentation audience is kids, and I think they'd relate to some of those.

And revolution. They are very good at revolutions.

Don't forget to bring the carrots for the miniature guillotine demonstrations!
