Yup, and that's why I don't live up north anymore. :):cold: This conversation reminded me of one 4th of July when I went fishing with my Father and some of his friends up in a mountain lake in the Adirondacks. Snow flurries! Still can't believe it, but I saw it with my own 12 year old eyes. They worked perfectly back then. :geek:

The Adirondacks are very nice. I remember when I was a kid, my parents took the family there and we went to Ausable Chasm. I don't know if you've ever been there, but it was an exciting walk through these open chasms and then we rode in a large bateau down some (mild) rapids. It was a blast!!

Yes, I have been there, in fact, I lived only 12 miles from there for 15 years. Seen it a few times.:) I was born and raised in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and when I was 15 the family moved to Vermont.

I remember taking a ferry from Grand Isle, Vermont, across beautiful Lake Champlain, over to Plattsburgh. That was a fun ride! You lived in a very pretty area. I know you don't miss the snowstorms up there, or in Vermont, but you have to admit—there's gorgeous scenery in both locales.

I agree - it's one of the prettiest places I know in the fall. If it wasn't for that stupid snow in the winter...

Off center Disney blender. It's amazing what you can find by putting "disney" in front of your search item.

I was going to go with the other thing that came up but i think it's a juicer.

It's cute though, I still kinda want it.

Yes, it is. However, winter is usually over 5 months long, then there is mud season followed by a brief spring, a short summer and an incredibly vibrant fall, followed by winter. I lived about 6 miles from the Grand Isle Ferry for a number of years, both sides of the lake. I can't tell you how many times I rode that thing.

The ferry from Burlington, Vt. to Port Kent, N.Y. (which is just a stones throw away from Ausable Chasm) is an hour long and on a nice day is an incredible ride.

Side note: I lived in Plattsburgh until I was 15 years old and finished 9th grade. Can you believe that I never even heard of the Battle of Plattsburgh during the War of 1812 until I was in High School in Vermont? The closer one gets to something the less they seem to know about it.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Back in the early 80's I asked a girl out on a date to an Eddie Murphy concert. I had floor seats, 10th row, center. She was ALL about "Oh yea, cool! He's sooo funny on SNL!"
Apparently, she'd never seen him anywhere else before. She was not amused. :cyclops:
I'll say!
