My daughter got married on April 8th. They missed their connection to the cruise they were taking (wedding gift from me) because of a 10 inch snow/ice storm. Ah, no... my lads and lassie's, winter has plenty of potential left. Years ago I was having a house built and the construction was supposed to start on April 10th. Wanna guess what happened? Over a foot of snow overnight from the 9th to the 10th. Nuff said! They call it sugar snow, but it is as nasty, cold and wet as any other type of snow you can name and anything but sweet.
Oh, well then I'll just do a bake sale.

I'm more of a renter. I'm looking to move to an urban setting when my landlord puts where I live up for sale.

Edit to add - Gander, Nfld got 58 cm (that's TWO FEET to you) last Victoria Day weekend.
And THAT is why I do not live in the Maritimes.
Sunday has gone from 64 to 59. Still, we've had only one day in the 50s this year so far from what I can remember. Then next week it's upper 30s to mid 40s. Tomorrow we are supposed to have some thunderstorms, the first of the year (besides the few booms we've heard already).

I think Canada is such a cool country with so much diversity in culture and climate. A dream of mine (if I win the lottery) has always been to take one of those scenic train ride vacations across Canada.

Yup, and that's why I don't live up north anymore.
This conversation reminded me of one 4th of July when I went fishing with my Father and some of his friends up in a mountain lake in the Adirondacks. Snow flurries! Still can't believe it, but I saw it with my own 12 year old eyes. They worked perfectly back then.
