When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
<600 calories a day isn't healthy.

If you want, I can whip you up a 1500 calorie or so per day weekly menu...not tonight, but this weekend, if you like.

But, anything less than 1k...BIG red flag. You shouldn't do that.

Don't do it again.
It was medically supervised.
Three times/week to the clinic. Urine samples twice/week. Blood work and doctor app't once/month.

Technically, it was 850 calories/day, but I never ate my two fruits (they set up day long cravings) and usually eliminated one of my breads.

Great diet to lose some weight quickly, get the momentum going, and then switch over to a more realistic diet after two months.

After my hysterectomy last year, I ballooned from a size 4/6 to a 12 - with the top button undone.

For me, the best long term diet to follow is South Beach. I never viewed it as a diet, just a way of life for years. Lots of lean protein, fresh veggies, a little fruit, some seeds and nuts, and NO REFINED CARBS.

Did I really just read thirteen pages of this thread? I think I'm seeing double now.

Is this a rewatch or your 1st time watching season 3?

Rewatch! I started with Season 1, episode 1 at the beginning of march and have been on one episode a day since. When I'm done I'll be right at Season 4's long awaited doorstep!

I have a huge jar I bought at Walmart. I fill it with single serve lunch bag snacks. Some healthy some not.

How cute is that ?! But honestly, I LOVE your curtains. Those are freaking adorable. Did you make them?

Iger and Georgie are not too popular in News and Rumours either.

We want Eisner back. Well, I do, anyway.

YES PLEASE.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
Hate me because I have these awesome shoes.

I don't hate you, but I am envious of those kicks. Cute! I'll have to show you my (two pairs!) mice shoes when I get home. I'm wearing my Sketchers at work right now... dress shoes be damned, it's not warm enough for that. :joyfull:

After the week you had, watching season 3 for the 1st time would not probably be the best idea. We would have had a Red Wedding emotional support group ready for when you got to that episode.

We are not that far apart in age. Not even one generation. Yet, our experiences are completely different.

There is no reason why there should be a law that prevents someone under a certain age who passes a qualification for a 1099 job to be ineligible.

There is no reason why age should be a definition at all when it comes to a service that is skilled and qualified and has a robust certification mechanism. Period. None.

But <shrug> it exists, because people are silly.

There is no reason why "child labor laws" should be so intrusive into family economics OUTSIDE of school hours that they are required to certify whether a child can or can not work.

I get if the child is late, or missing classes, etc...but otherwise? None of their business.

I want my daughter to go to college, but I also know it's not the only path. It is, if you have the right choice of majors, a very good path. One that opens a lot of doors in the hallways of life. But, it's not the only path.

She shouldn't think she is "stuck" in life as long as she can reason, budget and market her skills, abilities and services. Does it open doors to have a high level education listed? Absolutely. Is it a worthy investment? If it can be done with limited expense, yes. Does it limit your potential for success? Even your total profitability? Nope, not at all.

I want her to know what it's like to "feel" like an adult without being one. Her income won't go to "savings" mostly, and I won't tell her it should. They'll go to finance whatever lifestyle she chooses to lead. Want designer jeans? Sure, I'll give you the $10 bucks I'd pay for them at target, you go out and buy what you want just pay the difference.

That way, she has pride in what she owns, but she understands that it was an investment SHE decided to make (jeans in this case), and there are only so many pairs a rational person will buy before they go...this is silly.

Does that mean she won't get a surprise from me and Mom at holidays? Nope. But, it does mean that the majority of her wardrobe / makeup / whatever expenses (for me it was video games and clothes) she is wholly aware of the cost.
I fully respect your opinion on child labor. I think the legal age should be 13. The other thing (and this is coming from someone who's been applying for job after job recently) is that employers a lot of times won't hire until age 16. My suggestion to you is when your daughter is old enough to work, look for local places. They are more likely to hire younger. I agree that college is not the only path. My parents were adamant that I would go to college, and for me it's been the right path. I've got several friends who hated school and wanted the bare minimum. One of them has a job in HVAC already, and we only just graduated. My parents' reason for having me save when I was younger is so that I have some money put away for the future. I didn't even touch that money until I was 18, and I used it to buy electronics (they bought my laptop, but said anything else I had to buy myself). There is something to be said for working at a young age. Right now it's hard to get a job, and experience helps.

LOL thank you... I will probably need that support group. Now that I know it's going to happen, I'm seriously dreading that episode... I would like to say that I'll skip it, but I know me better than that, I'll still be chomping away on pitas and hummus while watching it.
