Chicago White Sox are trying hard to remove ice and snow from the field. They have tents with blowers in the outfield but they can't get some of the ice off the infield at all. The ground is still frozen solid. The grass where it is showing is soggy but the dirt is solid. They say Cub's Wrigley Field is the same.

I too, am off to bed.
I have the next two days off.

Sort of, kind of, maybe, reconsidering visiting my cousin's husband before he passes. He has been in palliative care for a week. My aunt assures me that no one is expecting me - that they all know I'm a basket case since my dad died. Still not sure what to do. I am not usually this indecisive.

I also found you this

That helped, thank you

Don't necessarily rule out an internal issue. I work with dogs everyday. She likely witnessed a lot over the last day and they take in more than we give them credit for that can upset their internal apple cart. I'd give her the benefit of doubt since this is so out of character for her.

If she is still having issues, take a 'sample' to the vet for them to 'evaluate.' Gotta rule out what is up with her before punishing her. We've all had issues similar, can just imagine not being able to get out of a crate to do what ya gotta do. My 2 cents. :)

I'm sure the ...drama in the house is affecting her as well. I stripped her crate just in case of more unpleasant stuff but the noise of her nails on the plastic floor bed kept me up. :( I'm keeping an eye on her. I made sure she went in the yard this morning before we left.

Spoke too soon. Another card, with $63.90 still remaining on it is missing. (I told you, his partner keeps buying them for him.)

Hubby says, "I want him out of here. Say the word and he's gone."

Not fair to me. He's only 17. He left for a couple of weeks the summer he turned 16. I was worried sick every day. At least if he's here, I sort of know what he's up to.

We nearly lost him at birth. After being placed in our room, I had to go fetch the nurse because I didn't like the way he was breathing. Within a minute or so, his lungs collapsed and he was blue from head to toe. A week in the neo-natal ICU, and he was fine.

He had feeding issues for years. I had to nurse him exclusively for a full year because he couldn't drink from a bottle, sip from a cup, or take anything by spoon. He wasn't able to swallow cereal (pablum) or baby food until well over 15 months. He couldn't tolerate chunkier toddler food until he was 3 1/2. Until then, he lived on baby cereal (pablum), yogurt and whole milk.

He had orthopaedic issues. Had to see a specialist until he was 12.

He has (what turned out to thankfully be a minor) heart anomaly. Spent a couple of years going back and forth to Sick Kids Hospital though.

And he had an accidental overdose of Gravol (Dramamine to you) four years ago, which landed him in pediatric ICU for 24 hours.

He's a handful. But, he's my handful. As much as I want to choke him sometimes, I remember dropping to my knees in the maternity room washroom while the doctors were frantically trying to save him, and begging God to save my son. Obviously, He did. And now I can't bail on him.

I can't overlook his b.s. antics, but I can't cut him off either.
As I've said before, he was raised properly; in an intact loving home; we attended church; he was taught morals and right from wrong. I have to believe that sooner or later he will become the young man that God intends him to be. Until then, I may just have to run interference between him and his father. And pray.

I can't say I understand because I don't have kids and I don't, but I do understand you not wanting to shove him away. And I applaud you for that, really. I hep things get better with him, and between him and his dad. If he's under the legal drinking age (is he?) could authorities be involved or even a rehab center? It's not ideal, but it may help to snap him back to reality.

I'll post more to you later on, I'm literally running on E right now and can't quite function just yet. I barely slept. Again. Five hours of sleep in 48 is not a good thing.

We can make an exception or two and let her know in advance, we're not without compassion!
Thank you.
I was just about to post that I slept very poorly last night, and am going back to bed for an hour. Please don't nuke before noon.
Also, for clarification purposes, it's a polar vortex right? So that means, it originates at the North Pole (which under international law is not technically owned by any country) and is only passing through Canada; troubling us as much as our good friends to the south. Not technically our fault.

Sure, but you folks could have stopped if you tried hard enough. It's all part of being a good neighbor. Don't make us build a fence!:grumpy:

Since I'm in North Carolina and it's cold enough here today to freeze a well diggers butt in Alaska, I can't help but thinking that you guys are pushing it down here. It ain't natural, I tell ya!:arghh:

Still below freezing here. Sidewalks are clear, but there's a foot of snow on everyone's grass still, and three foot banks at the road's edge.
I should be wearing flip flops. Instead, I am still wearing boots. And not even hot, black leather, high-heeled sexy boots either. Nuh uh, I am wearing fleece lined, flat heeled suede boots with mega tread. Not sexy at all!

But every time we have a problem the top solution is to blame you. There even was a whole song and dance routine led by Robin Williams to convince everyone why we should.

Tomorrow when my alarm goes off, I'm turning it off, rolling over, and sleeping for the rest of the day.

Apparently something in my office is triggering a reaction... I've been sneezing nonstop (literally, like, my chest hurts from sneezing) since I walked in at 7:45 and now my snot is bloody, my nose is red and raw, and my ears are ringing.

I used the bathroom and went to wash my hands, and the water from the faucet was yellow.

Once again, I'm calling the health department. Second time this year, fourth time in 6 months. How sick do I have to get before something is investigated- let alone done to fix the problem- with this building?
